  1. Nope, I am still enjoying it a lot. It reached 82 here at UCI, where I took my dog for a walk to hunt squirrels. Picture coming later. Android has a new bug where it will not attach files from my phone.
  2. From 42 to 73 and still going up. It's a beautiful day out there.
  3. It is quite warm today after the cool, windy day we had yesterday.
  4. This is pretty funny - the Affordable Plumbing Act. http://rebaneruminations.typepad.com/rebanes_ruminations/2016/01/the-affordable-plumbing-act.html Also Gallup poll shows Obama had one of the lowest average approval ratings out of any president. http://www.gallup.com/poll/202742/obama-averages-job-approval-president.aspx
  5. I am for the wall, but not for the Mexicans paying for it. I also think that it is stupid that you can have parents who are illegal and you are legal just because you were born in the United States. I think people are more concerned about families being split up then simply being sent back to Mexico.
  6. Very windy today. It made a big mess in my backyard. Good thing the hills are still moistured from the recent storms.
  7. La Nina is getting weaker, but lately it seems that weak La Nina conditions bring atmospheric river storms to the West Coast as was the case in winter 2010-11 and this winter.
  8. Back to boring weather for a while. Since the atmospheric river that gave Orange County and LA County so much rain with the last storm mostly bypassed San Diego, we will need to hope for some storms focused on San Diego County.
  9. It's a beautiful morning with sunrise finally a few seconds earlier than on Winter Solstice. We have gained 29 minutes of daylight in the afternoon. After February 11, however, sunrise will be changing at a faster rate than the sunset. Lots of snow on the San Bernardino mountains, but in Lake Forest, they are mostly blocked by the Santa Ana Mountains.
  10. There are enough peaceful countries in the Middle East that refugees can go to. Qatar is one. Why do they want to come here when they can live with their people? Also the ban on Muslim immigrants is only temporary.
  11. We had one loud bang of thunder last night and an intense downpour that lasted for a few minutes around 4:45 AM. The rest of the day had some occasional showers, but no more thunder. Right now it has mostly cleared out. Still hoping for San Diego to get some more showers tonight and tomorrow.
  12. So far Lindbergh Field has a total of 0.5" from this storm, compared to 2 to 3 inches for most of Orange County.
  13. As much as I'm excited by the 2.72" we got in Fullerton, I'm extremely disappointed by how this storm ditched San Diego. Only 0.18" with the rain already moving out.
  14. 2.72" for Fullerton Airport, but San Diego has just had a few tenths of a inch.
  15. Fullerton Airport is now up to 2.27". Did not look that it would happen earlier this morning.
  16. Obama family is not getting the greatest weather for their Palm Springs vacation. Nobody here has anything to say about the storm. Rain is getting heavier and heavier.
  17. January 2017 already has more rain than we got from all of October 2015-September 2016 for Fullerton Airport. October 2015-September 2016: 5.26" January 2017: 5.45"
  18. It's been pouring for about 2 hours now, but nobody has anything to say about it.
  19. So far you have not left, which is good. We never get snow here, except for in the mountains, but I know what a disappointing storm can be like. Today's storm is supposed to bring 2 to 3 inches of rain, but so far it only brought 0.28" to Fullerton since it started early this morning and it has rarely been raining hard enough for me to hear the roof dripping outside of my window. Also, during most storms, John Wayne Airport, which is the closest station to my house, is always one of the places to get the lowest rainfall totals. It almost always rains harder in Lake Forest, but there are no major airports there. I actually love warm and sunny weather, but when it does rain, I want to see it pour like crazy, especially with our drought. The thing I hate most are cold, gray marine layer days when the weather is lousy, but all you get is some light morning drizzle that rarely amounts to more than a trace. Rain has started to intensify now, so there is still some hope of getting pretty good totals, but probably less than 2 inches.
  20. So far rainfall intensity has been below expectations. Would not be surprised if we got less than half the forecast totals. Storm does not look too impressive from the satellite. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/weus/vis.jpg
  21. Rain is starting to get heavier. The rain let up a little bit earlier this morning, which gave me enough time to take the dog for a walk.
  22. Sun rises in Utqiaġvik, Alaska (formerly known as Barrow) for the first time in 2017. The sun will be up from about 1:18 PM to 2:00 PM. At solar noon, the sun will not be fully above the horizon. Meanwhile in Lake Forest, sunset has changed from 4:46 PM to 5:12 PM since Winter Solstice while sunrise has changed from 6:51 AM to 6:52 AM. Solar noon has changed from 11:49 AM to 12:02 PM. Rain has begun, but so far it's very light. Hope to see it get heavier throughout the day.
  23. I'm not getting into anymore political discussion, as I won't change any views. Just to let to you know it is not 2016 and not Fall.
  24. Yesterday's storm was not as strong as I expected, though there were some periods of heavy rain. The creek in the park near my house was not that high. Nothing like when we had a storm that dropped 7 inches of rain in one night and washed out the sidewalk about 5-10 feet above the creek.
  25. The above article was just written by another sore loser. Once again, anybody who says Hillary has done nothing wrong is extremely ignorant. This is also worth repeating. Hillary was infamous for a lot of scandals. From Whitewater to Benghazi: A Clinton-Scandal Primer If you could read through that other article, you should also have time to read the one above. My brother, who voted for Obama twice, could not vote for Hillary because he knew of Hillary's scandals, which the media would never mention since they were heavily pro-Clinton. He did not vote for either Trump or Hillary. The media also uses the same exact strategy, which is repeating things over and over again about how terrible Donald Trump will be as a President. Fear mongering is how the media makes money. Liberals love to repeat how they believe conservatives are racists and bigots. The result: Democrats continue to be sore losers and blame Hillary's loss on everything but themselves. Over the years, liberals have taken control of almost all the mainstream media and all the universities. Many professors support socialism (a less offensive word for Communism) and oppose capitalism. Is it very hard for a conservative person to even be hired as a professor. As for the liberals controlling the mainstream media, one article says this: Obama's eight years have helped the liberals take more control over our country and people's minds than ever before. With Trump and the Republican Congress, the liberals are terrified they could lose some of this power. That is the reason they are in panic. Part of the reasons I voted for Trump were opposing girls in boy's restrooms, being offended by political correctness destroying our freedom of speech, and liberals thinking that true freedom means freedom from morality.
