  1. Looks like we are about to get smashed in between two systems coming from opposite directions.
  2. Looks like the ecology dept smoke forecast models are fairly accurate. About a week ago they called for another smoke intrusion Friday into Saturday and sure enough it is back. Not terrible though as AQIs are in the upper 40s to upper 50s.
  3. Ya the forecast models greatly improved for this weekend which is nice.
  4. -14 for the high today at SeaTac. Pretty impressive.
  5. That continuous train of moisture is impressive. Some locations under it are up to and over an inch of rain.
  6. Here you go. The forecast is actually looking a little better. This morning it showed us back into orange by Friday. https://enviwa.ecology.wa.gov/home/text/421#Forecast
  7. Unfortunately the smoke did not get kicked out of here which I figured would be the case as smoke is notorious for sticking around much longer than modeled projections. Even more unfortunate is it looks like another round of thicker smoke is supposed to infiltrate the sound over Labor Day weekend
  8. This is just practice for this winter’s epic model pullbacks right before events….
  9. Looks like a decent amount of upper level wildfire smoke is mixing into this system coming through tonight and tomorrow. Not sure if it will inhibit thunderstorms forming.
  10. Was just thinking the same thing. 2019 were remnants of a hurricane and was unusually warm and wet with more instability than this probably will be but hoping I’m wrong.
  11. Currently driving from Redding to the redwoods and unfortunately the rain has been focused a little too far south east of where most all of the fires are. However, it is providing cloud cover and higher humidity. It is also drenching areas to the east that also look very dry.
  12. Road tripping this week and currently in Jackson. After lots of heat and smoke finally have some good thunderstorms and currently pouring which rain falling over the gutters. Really miss this weather. Such a nice reprieve. Sitting out in the front porch of the rental getting rain blown and not caring one bit. Wife thinks I’m crazy though.
  13. I live in the area as well and I would agree. It’s still an issue and lot of people need help but it is better than it was then when I first moved back into the area in 2006. At least for NW Seattle.
  14. We just got back from suncadia yesterday and they were doing a bunch of controlled burns north of there which were creating quite the plumes but probably not what some were seeing from the Puget sound area.
  15. The Seattle area is currently above normal for precip so far in June. Granted with no rain on the horizon they will probably end a little below normal for the month.
  16. Oh also, the wildlife is Washington coast times 50.
  17. Was an amazing day out on the water in Alaska today. Everyone else was disappointed because it was too stormy to get to the best spots for fishing but from a weather perspective I always wanted to experience a good Alaskan storm along the coast and got it over the last few days (in the summer to boot). Huge swells, crashing waves, and driving rain/wind. The captain was wondering why I was was so enthralled and excited:)
  18. Arrived in Craig Alaska and felt like a winter day with 25-35 knot winds and heavy rain in the 40s. Made the puddle jumper plane ride a roller coaster. Still light outside too
  19. Leaving tomorrow for a fishing trip in Alaska (Craig, Alaska) and it’s looking wet and windy unfortunately. I am looking forward to some more active weather in general.
  20. Totally agree. Might be my favorite game ever. I got it about two years ago and still pick it up and play and explore areas. The scenery makes the game more relaxing for me. I just lent it to a friend so figure I won’t get it back for quite a while:)
  21. The first time it happened I had no idea what was going on. I was on the phone out front and the buzzing got so loud I couldn’t hear the person on the phone. The side of the neighbors house was completely covered in bees. I thought it was a plague or something:)
  22. Had a huge swarm came through the other day and inhabit one of the neighbors bee hives. It’s quite the site when it happens.
