  1. These things ebb and flow it just takes longer these days in between ebbs and flows. It was just a month ago people were taking about the cold and rain possibly continuing through summer and comparing to 2011.
  2. This weather will come back around. My guess is later June/July we will get back to cooler and wetter than normal. I have a feeling it will be a cold and rainy 4th compared to normal.
  3. Big time lightning here on Snoqualmie ridge at the golf tourney. This photo from my golf cart. It screwed up my phone when taking
  4. Ya I noticed that. I don’t like golfing in the heat let alone the humidity on Monday. I wouldn’t mind some clouds and showers and a lightning show.
  5. Hey I was there this evening too out on that rubber patio. Golfed with some clients earlier in the day who live out there. I golf Snoqualmie ridge on Monday for the Providence golf tourney.
  6. Saw the same one from the deck. Too bad I missed it with my camera.
  7. Normally that map would signify a lot of storms from the south or pineapple express pattern. Don’t see that sort of precip dispersement with the colder weather we have been having. Pretty interesting to see.
  8. Ya especially at SEA which usually tends to over-perform in those situations.
  9. Interesting looks like SEA will break the record days in between last 70deg. If we get past late next weeks warm weather SEA could really pad that record.
  10. I have a feeling we will see a lot of thunderstorms this summer especially compared to the last few summers which have not had many.
  11. Crazy weather over in South Dakota. Currently a blizzard warning for up to 30” of snow and 55mph winds while next week highs in the 70s.
  12. Quite the temp difference on either side of the convergence. Upper 40s to low 50s to the north and south while 30s with snow within the convergence.
  13. Had a friend hike it yesterday and was in good shape. Tomorrow it is going to be covered in snow.
  14. I’m sure there will be lots of snow in the air but is definitely borderline for accumulating snow over the next 7-10 days. Don’t get me wrong it will fun to track and watch but looks to be many nights of borderline snow that will lead to both surprises and lots of frustrating “if only it were a few degrees colder “ nights
  15. Lots of potential next week but could also be a very tortuous week with lots of low to mid thirties rain/snow mix with nothing to show. In the end excited for the fun weather watching.
  16. Looking forward to a stormy day today. Currently have a gale warning for 45-55 mph winds. The system on the satellite has a two barrel look to it similar to the failed wind storm earlier this season.
  17. I was surprised the difference as north seattle was over an inch of rain today while the south side of the city looked to only get a little more than a 1/2”.
  18. You can see the eye of the storm on the radar.
  19. I don’t remember the last time I saw both carkeek and golden gardens beaches IMG_6599.MOV completely disappear.
  20. Even with the long dry period this summer and fall, SEA looks to end the year just barely wetter than the yearly average. They will also likely end December wetter than average. They are still short on the water year but will be close to being above average after next week. Was surprised with how dry it has been in general in the northwest this year. NW Washington has been spared for the most part when it comes to lack of precip.
  21. I feel like cold intrusions in the past have come in pairs in the past roughly 4 weeks apart similar to this year. When they do occur though we don’t typically see another similar cold intrusion the rest of winter. We’ll see if this one will follow.
  22. Just started snowing here. 24 deg and 9 deg dew point.
  23. Interesting. Komo says it was a record high for Seattle. They are off so often with their records.
  24. Just left work and shocked by the cold when I stepped outside. 19deg at 6pm!
