  1. I agree to some extent. I think strong might be better for cool summer prospects though.
  2. Wield? A lot of that is because the mountain is steep and isolated. The backside has a lot of snow, and even that face has it under the trees. Also....this just hasn't been a good year for snow in this general area.
  3. None in this area. There are a lot east of the Cascades.
  4. Managed to drop to 36 here this morning. Could be working on a really good average min for the month the way it looks right now. The models are still really struggling with the details on upcoming cool period, but it looks solid no matter what.
  5. Wow! This ENSO crash is about to get real. There has already been a notable drop in all of the regions over the past week or two. I'm thinking it at least goes moderate based on this.
  6. Incredible day today. Ended up with 65/32 here. It's quite remarkable how similar the temps were west of the Cascades vs east of the Cascades today. Everything has to be just right for that to happen. Unfortunately, the warmth in the passes is going to take its toll on snow depths this weekend.
  7. Definitely expect late frost this season.
  8. I was commenting on the fact many models were showing a Canadian cold front dropping through the area. Usually those clear it out.
  9. Pretty historic looking GEM run. If the 500mb setup shown were to verify this could easily happen. Big if of course.
  10. Down to 45 here and falling pretty quickly.
  11. Classic double reversal taking place. This type thing is a hallmark in spring during our cold periods.
  12. The GEM and GFS both bring chilly north winds to the Puget Sound area early in week two. Love this type of stuff.
  13. Pretty nice looking 500mb pattern for early spring.
  14. Quite remarkably that is the same extreme max as Dallol Ethiopia, which is the hottest place on Earth.
  15. If you can do that why not dial up a nice snowstorm for us?
  16. Average low IMBY this month is 33.1 so far and it looks like we have a lot more cold mins coming up. I'm really liking the looks of week two right now. The chill gets pretty continental.
  17. The last sentence is certainly part of why I like deep troughing instead of flat patterns. This weekend is going to be a real boost for people who get down, because of the gloom this time of year.
  18. My son just had a seizure a couple of nights ago. Sick feeling for the people watching. I can't imagine how it must have felt in the days there wasn't medication to stop them. I'm so sorry you have to go through that.
  19. Incredible morning out there! Crystal clear and 30. These next few days are going to be enjoyable...especially knowing below normal temps will return after that.
  20. I'll be interested to see if we can get some cool continental air in the mid to late spring this year. Haven't had one of those years in ages. In the 1948 to mid 1970s period frost in May and even freezing mins in May were pretty easy to come by.
  21. Day 10 on the ECMWF has a very legit cold air mass over us. Continental also so the lows would be very impressive if it happens. That is especially true for the night following 10.
