  1. Some low clouds piling up and enveloping West Seattle this morning...
  2. Right now... my top analogs are definitely: 1949-50 2002-03 1968-69 1976-77
  3. You are heading almost to SE AK... there will be no warmth over-performing there.
  4. 75 with a dewpoint of 63 at DCA right now... downright pleasant. Almost perfect actually.
  5. 87 at SEA... the streak is over. The perfect July has been destroyed.
  6. Ahhh... good to know. I am not very familiar with the microclimates up there.
  7. Lynden during a Fraser outflow wind event... http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/18097061.jpg
  8. Yeah... more moisture in the soil even in the dry season. Same thing out here down in the Snoqualmie River valley. The wind blows the snow away up there many times. There can be 60 mph winds in an arctic blast in Lynden and Blaine while its calm on the east side of Bellingham. Wind just roars across that flat land.
  9. 84 at SEA now. 88 at PDX. Only 76 in Vancouver BC. Phil is avoiding any warmth on this trip.
  10. That is the Fraser River valley... very rich soil. Also the door for our major arctic outbreaks from the north.
  11. Really pretty area in there. The view of Mt Baker should be great from Ferndale... just look east.
  12. Where was this taken? Looks like the area near Lake Samish south of Bellingham. And are we supposed to be looking at the dirty car ahead of you?
  13. I think you have to take a chopper to get there.
  14. Are you in Canada yet, Phil? Ehhh? You also went right by the famous KBLI.
  15. That place is VERY expensive... like $5K per person for 3 nights!
  16. Our 8-foot high wall of sweet peas loving this weather... so many and so sweet.
  17. 82 at SEA... today might break the 70-85 streak.
  18. FWIW... the 12Z ECMWF does not show even a remote chance of rain for SEA or PDX through August 4th.
  19. I am about as anti-heat as I can be right now... way too dry for that.
  20. Praying for a white Labor Day. Its been years!
  21. Seems almost inevitable that the pattern will turn somewhat wetter at some point in August.
  22. All this talk of snow... here are some soothing winter images for you in July. January 2, 2017: February 7, 2017:
  23. I do that all the time. My son has been known to shovel with no shirt on at all... while its still snowing.
