  1. What's your snow total so far for the year? How much on the ground? Typically Winthrop is colder but gets less snow than you but they sure have gotten hit good with snow. They had 50" along between Feb 10th and 24th. Still been snowing some there but don't have totals. You might be catching up.
  2. I was talking to a person at the chamber of Commerce in Winthrop. They have picked up 50" since the 10th of Feb.
  3. Love Leavenworth's snow totals but too stinkin hot in the summer for me although evenings cool down with air drainage off the mountains at night. I'd pick Winthrop. Snow totals just a little less than Leavenworth, a little cooler summers, colder in the winter by quite a bit but definitely drier in precip totals. Just pretty isolated from pop. centers. Wenatchee maybe what, an hour and a half away give or take? North Cascade HW to Seattle closed in the winter so a bit isolated, but great location. Don't have totals for this last week but it looks like they got a pile of snow.
  4. Do you know how much snow was in Republic itself?
  5. I just saw it reposed on Mark Nelson's Blog, it seems to be from NWS. I'm sure there are more totals for many people different from the NWS reporting stations/airports etc.
  6. Thanks to Steve Pierce for this: I don't know how complete this is or how official. I don't have anything for Washington. ..COAST... 7. Does anyone have a link to any webcam in Cle Elum? Can't seem to find one, if it exists. I only have the WDOT cams out on the freeway further west of town.
  8. Nice snowfall right now last 15 minutes, 26f.
  9. I'd be really surprised if PDX gets a "snowstorm" today but the odds of a bad ice storm is the more probable scenerio. Perhaps a little snow to start but ZR more likely. Too much mid level warming already in the valley and numerous reports of light ZR in and around the metro area, albeit some snow flurries over night in places locally. I picked up another 1/4" after midnight while less than 10 miles away to the south and north there was ZR. Perhaps with east wind damming up against the coast range it may be thick enough for snow initially in Forest Grove, Vernonia, but on the east side shallower. I'd love to see more snow but Just don't see a "snow storm". I'm between Oregon City and Estacada and somewhat protected from the east wind. Still 26f and a flake or two floating down but Just don't see a big accumulation coming. I just think from what I'm seeing that it will start as snow locally but fairly quick change over to sleet/ZR. I see that the NWS is hedging their bets but still lean towards 4-8" I just don't see it. That's just how I see it IMHO.
  10. I think he is a little frustrated with the other local mets. Sussman forecasts 2.5" through Friday and another 4.5" on Saturday, Rodd Hill says 12" on Saturday. Weigel from NWS and Nelson cautious about anything happening Saturday.
  11. I'd be surprised if PDX hits 9-10 with the wind. If it drops off maybe. If not then we are looking at some serious wind chills. Single digits with wind would be pretty darn impressive here.
  12. Interesting article on the historical droughts in California. There were some crazy long droughts that lasted decades. Now with so much agricultural dependance on California, IF history were to repeat itself with a much longer drought, I'm seeing tomatoes at $10/lb and forget our winter fruit. Economic results would be terrible. Shaping up to be the driest 2012-13 in over 400 years! Could help Oregon wine producers as Cali would have trouble keeping up with the demand. Now back to the cold. http://www.mercurynews.com/science/ci_24993601/california-drought-past-dry-periods-have-lasted-more
  13. Tyler Mode took this of me. Winds then were between 106-110. Steve Pierce came up later and has hit 122! Unbelievable. Guess the video file was too big to post.
