  1. Yeah I heard next winter will have a good chance of being neutral...which it seems like when we usually get the wild windstorms and good periods of snowy fun. Let’s hope so.
  2. One of the most amazing events in my lifetime, here is what I wrote in the "This day in history" thread yesterday... On this day...11/26/06 in the morning the snow started to stick, by 1pm the power was off as the heavy wet snow started taking down trees and limbs. By that night it was still snowing with a foot on the ground...it continued until the evening of the 27th when the arctic front pushed through and temps plummeted to the upper teens. 18” of snow, tree destruction like I have never seen, and no power for nearly a week since the damage was so extensive. That was one hell of an event especially since the forecast called for a sloppy inch with possibly another inch with arctic passage...
  3. I need to decide if tomorrow morning or Wednesday morning would be the better travel day over Snoqualmie Pass with a rear wheel drive van. The NWS forecast seems quite vague with “showers” and 2,500 snow levels yet the discussion says between 3-4K feet. Thoughts? Looks like it’s currently snowing pretty good up there.
  4. Sounds like it might get breezy again... 5. My Seahawks windsock just blew away. Not a good sign for today.
  6. If it was about 15 degrees cooler we would be in the middle of a massive blizzard right now.
  7. I had just finished blowing off the driveway since it was dead calm and dry...then came the massive rain and west wind....that erased all of my work.
  8. Now heavy rain with high winds from the west!
  9. Well I had a 2hr break of the rain...it’s now back with a vengeance. Windy as well.

  11. Moderate rain, breezy south wind, and 51 degrees currently.
  12. It was the first time I was in awe of the power of wind...we had a huge Maple tree in our backyard and half of it snapped and crashed through our fence...it was so exciting! Yeah I like the wind a little too much, even at 7yrs old!! We were without power for a week, back then it took forever for the repair crews to come and fix the lines since our population was so low back then so we were very low priority. Now we have fifteen trillion people living around here unfortunately.
  13. It will probably get used as much as my generator since I have gotten it a year ago...zero!! We all need to burn our snowblowers, show shovels, sleds, anything snow related. It might the only way we ever see snow again.
  14. Was the first half of Dec. 1949 very dull as well...with forum weather weenies ready to call winter cancel on their CB radios?
  15. Currently 43 and cloudy after a spectacular sunrise.
  16. I’m a day late but the Puget Sound windstorm on November 24th 1983. I turned 7yrs old that day and got to enjoy that awesome storm on my Birthday! And Turkey via the BBQ since we didn’t have power.
