  1. Need to move to Snowshoe! http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww243/phillywillie/Mobile%20Uploads/B48FEE2F-C2C5-461A-99AB-6A2DFA7A1385_zpsjvekwbq3.png
  2. Hit 55mph here on 2nd wind sensor. Quantico hit 78mph Snowshoe hit 80mph Germantown hit 66mph.
  3. Sunny, warm, muggy, and windy here. Feels like a severe day.
  4. DCA averages 16", so that actually beats it. BWI/Baltimore averages 24", so that's possibly within reach by mid-March.
  5. I think next winter (2017/18) is either a "transition winter", or the grand finale of our torchy stretch. These blowtorch winters tend to come in bunches of two's or three's. Regarding the timing the next modoki-Niño response to the upcoming solar wind drop, it looks like 2019/20 is the leading candidate, so that should be a huge winter. As for 2018/19, that's a big mystery as we're on the cusp of a slew of multidecadal flips by then. Big string of Niñas likely in the early/mid 2020s.
  6. Yeah, this summer is going to blow chunks. Dewpoint machine is gearing up. http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/ocean/cdas-sflux_ssta_watl_1.png
  7. Have to say, the winters of 2013/14 and 2014/15 feel like some sort of alternate reality at this point. Both of those years were throwing down singe digit/subzero lows like candy through the entirety of March. We still had a 15" snowpack by the end of March 2014. It's like a switch was flipped in 2015/16. Has been so different since that super-niño.
  8. All those "highly rated" polls busted bigly in November. That rating system is as terrible as the polls they're trying to rate. It's not as much about the sampling method (which is what the rating system highlights), but rather how they tune and homogenize their samples that's most important.
  9. Modeled soundings for Wednesday are crazy. Haven't seen anything like this in years..if the current wavetrain continues into/through the spring, this is gonna be a HUGE severe weather year, that much I'm sure of.
  10. Enlighten me. Her voting record as a senator, and her record as Secretary of State, suggests otherwise. I don't want links to stuff she said during the campaign. I want evidence of things she actually did while in office, before the campaign.
  11. Yeah, thousands of dead brown people is so funny, right? Even funnier is the fact that you'd vote for the individual responsible for much of it.
  12. I wonder who Sounder would've voted for had it been Bernie vs agent orange. My guess is the latter. He also said he's "pretty far left" which implies he probably sits closer to Bernie on the spectrum. Hillary is anything but "far left" so something just isn't adding up IMO.
  13. Statements like this lend credence to the idea that a mandatory voter IQ test should be implemented. You would almost certainly fail such a test. Hillary Clinton wouldn't have done diddly-squat for anyone, save maybe her banker friends on Wall Street. She's left nothing but death and destruction everywhere she's been, from Libya, to Egypt, to minority communities in this country that were torn apart by the crime bills of the 90s, to the dozens of women that fell victim to Bill's urges, while she covered for him. Uh, they actually tried, but it didn't work because the majority of voters were smart enough to see through it.
  14. Because the language was explicit and insensitive. That doesn't change the fact that the underlying message was taking a stand against gender roles in society. Anyone with a brain should be able to understand this.
  15. Dig into the context of that comment and it's a complete nothingburger. It was intentionally taken out of context by the Clinton campaign, and like well behaved lapdog, you slurped it right up. Advertisers and political campaigns target people like you with those catchy one liners and slogans, and you probably fall for it every time.
  16. Ah, so apparently it was part of a paragraph Sanders wrote back in the 1970s, attacking gender stereotypes. He was actually well ahead of his time. Should have guessed it was a BS political hit job. http://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2015/05/29/410606045/the-bernie-sanders-rape-fantasy-essay-explained
  17. What was that quote even in context to? What was the conversation about? That image seems suspicious to me.
  18. How can you go from suppoorting Romney in 2012 to supporting Bernie in 2016? They're almost polar opposites.
  19. Regarding the Trump/Russia conspiracy theory? Yeah I highly doubt there's anything there. The optics just aren't right. I said the same thing about Hillary's email stuff, and was lambasted from folks on the right for it. I've been wrong before, but having lived in the political "swamp" my entire life, I think I've developed somewhat of a nose for these things.
  20. Nothingburger? http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/trump-russia-connection-devin-nunes-response-235439
