  1. Yes, it is pretty normal. More so in the latter part of the month I'd say though.
  2. Maybe the spread from low-high is typical but the high itself is not far from record. (67 in 2004).
  3. It does not feel like March. Whatever it feels like, feels GREAT!!! Also went from freezing fog and upper 20's earlier, to this wonderful afternoon. High 63 degrees today. I hope the frogs broke free of their ice cubes.
  4. All of the grass is green here. But I think that's pretty typical (with a nearly constant state of snowpack, it does provide constant moisture), just about every year in the beginning of March my yard looks very Spring like. Though, as far as actual flowers/blooming/etc that doesn't kick in until early April. So technically nothing is either behind or ahead of schedule down here yet.
  5. Just when I was almost about to post "just got my first 60" I go on wunderground to find a 61 on Valentine's Day. Mind blown.
  6. There really is a difference in warm rain than cold 33F rain. Unless some people hate any kind of rain. Just my 2 cents!
  7. I see today was a bit diverse for some. Here I had a wonderful outdoorsy kind of day, high of 56, occasional sprinkles and overcast skies the whole day. Felt like 60, and felt like Spring was knocking on the door. Honestly wanted there to be legitimate showers to complete my experience. I don't mind being done with winter but I know a couple/few inches are probably around the corner sometime before March ends. I know this area almost too well. Let that happen, but let the majority of March be like today!
  8. I just got my most snowfall since the '07-'08 season (that was 63.5" down here). Sitting at 60.30" this season. With probably a bit more to come before Spring kicks in.
  9. Snow is all gone. Didn't take long to melt. High of 51 today with occasional light rain. In other news, I noticed KMAX finally came back online earlier today, maybe around noon.
  10. Most of the snow has melted this afternoon. Temps in the low 40's and occasional showers. KMAX radar still down...
  11. Couple detailed things I neglected to mention. While it was snowing Jan 3rd/4th, it started in the single digits in temps and continued in the teens. Altogether was a completely different snow than I ever remember here. The par for the course would be 28-32 degree snow, and almost no wind. I did legitimately also get a couple real blizzards here. (one of them surprisingly occurred in this month so far in March!!). I may not be a big fan of winter but there were definitely things that I consider memorable this season. Now, may there be pineapples before the warm season kicks in. Winter did more than it's part this time around. If March goes and pulls off a 2012.. I'll add another "+" to my A+ rank.
  12. This would easily be an A+ for Klamath Falls. This winter has surprised locals who have been here for decades. We saw our most 1 day snow since Jan 1993, and one of the 5 coldest temperatures ever at KLMT all within the first week of January 2017. Another strong point was diversity. This season kicked off right after an incredibly warm November. After my huge January storm and arctic temps, the depth of 21.00" I had built up quickly went down to a mere handful of inches after a few rainy days. February then goes to be another warmer than normal month while still providing lots of snow. Another thing too I noticed is that I am 4 consecutive months over average snowfall in a row. It has been more than a decade since that last happened. Lastly... WIND! It was extremely windy, not just this winter alone but even since October, Klamath Basin has been battered by numerous wind events. For now lately it has sort of quieted down but it seemed like for a while, there was never going to be an end to it.
  13. It's official now. 4 consecutive months of well above normal snowfall in a row. This hasn't happened in over 10 years... gonna need to go way back and look up when that last happened.
  14. Things have quieted down a lot over the last hour. 2.5" for the day, making 60.30" for the season. Nope, all rain.
  15. I'm sure I'm the exception, but I just calculated that Dec/Jan/Feb here this season was only -1.9 degrees from normal. January was the only cold month as I explained before on this forum, and February was a bit warmer than average. Overall not a "very cold" winter, but January was pretty cold.
  16. Most snowfall this winter since the 2007-2008 season. I'd say that's a good accomplishment.
  17. 3" on the ground. That makes 2" of new snow today since midnight. It's been consistently snowing for hours (but never heavy). KMAX still down so I don't have a very good concept of what this afternoon looks like. Just hit the 60" mark this winter!
  18. There were a few events here I thought models handled decently. But yeah for the most part they either give too much or too little compared to reality. More people live in Salem than in Klamath Falls, let's put it that way.
  19. Right before my bigger snow tonight, KMAX radar experiences technical difficulties. Could be out until tomorrow sometime. http://i64.tinypic.com/amcbi0.jpg
  20. Already creeping up to my March average snowfall, in almost no time. Why is it so easy to do this here? Makes me question this month's normal snow. But I have done the numbers myself... so it's legit I guess.
  21. Suddenly a blizzard outside. 30-40mph winds, moderate snow and very low visibility. Can't see very far out the windows.
  22. Had 1.50" of snow overnight, 1" before 12am, the rest afterwards. Tonight should be bigger in Klamath Falls. So far my seasonal total is 56.20".
  23. And that average is for a water year, not a calendar year? Just want to make sure, there are averages for both.
  24. I just noticed KLMT now goes back to even further. When did they add all this info? I remember I couldn't go further than 1970 or 1975 here for Klamath. Time to compile some more thunderstorm data!!!
