  1. The cowichan valley, where I live, historically tops out around 99-102 or so. Inland Vancouver island (such as Port Alberni) tops out around 105/106 with longer stretches of 90+ much more common.
  2. The total for March so far is right around 6" here. Not overly wet but it's been persistent with just 2 totally dry days this month.
  3. Yep, that and I have lived here my entire life. If he's in Vancouver during a heat wave, expect a few days around 90 with a gusty NW wind near the water. Pleasant stuff by DC standards. FYI, inland Vancouver island can scorch pretty good by PNW standards.
  4. Perfect. Heatwaves around here are generally very enjoyable. Especially compared to what you're used to.
  5. I'm hopeful for a few nice days later this week, but then it looks like more of the same. Seasonable temps and wetter than normal. First 5 days of April on the EPS
  6. Paris London is generally more cloudy and damp during the summer. Average highs in the lower 70's with rain every couple of days. No thanks.
  7. Sure, we are probably catching up. Kwanzans bloom a couple weeks later than the other.
  8. The comparison only really makes sense if they are the same variety. There is probably a 4-6 week window for bloom periods depending on variety.
  9. That would be nice. Southern Vancouver island is a dead zone for convection most always though. Least t-storm days out of any place in Canada.
  10. Doesn't look like there was much if any lightning in western Washington. A few strikes with that cell in Oregon.
  11. I would estimate my mowing contracts are starting about 2-3 weeks later than average ( since 2004). Probably as much as 5 weeks later than last year.
  12. 28F here this morning with heavy frost. Just a hint of green is starting to show on my otherwise brown lawn
  13. I would assume it's a result of the overall jet suppression we have seen this winter.
  14. All of BC has a lower than average snowpack. So a cooler March and April would be good in that regard. The Fraser river basin is at a 1in 15 year low. "The March basin index for the entire Fraser River basin is at 83%, which is approximately a 1-in-15 year low snowpack or the 10th lowest March index in the past 65 years." Table 1 - BC Snow Basin Indices – March 1, 2017 Basin % of Normal Upper Fraser West 66 Boundary 59 Upper Fraser East 66 Similkameen 83 Nechako 95 South Coast 90 Middle Fraser 84 Vancouver Island 72 Lower Fraser 95 Central Coast 84 North Thompson 87 Skagit 98 South Thompson 87 Peace 64 Fraser River – Entire 83 Nicola 83 Upper Columbia 87 Skeena-Nass 74 West Kootenay 91 Stikine 52 East Kootenay 99 Liard 45 Okanagan 86
  15. Looks pretty chilly this weekend. I think a few areas in SW BC might see a quick coating of snow at some point between Saturday and Sunday morning. Currently 44F with a little light rain just starting.
  16. It's been mostly dry here the past 2 days. Pouring rain this morning, however
