  1. I see that the Reaction Buttons have finally been re-enabled!
  2. 2.75" fell here in Orange from late Saturday night August 19 to late Sunday night / very early Monday morning August 21 from Hilary. This is the largest one storm total I have ever had during the month of August. The amount actually exceeded the 2" to 2.5" total forecast for my area, although I believe 2"-3" were forecast at one point. The remnants of Dolores in July 2015 was quite impressive, too, and that was the wettest July total I have recorded.
  3. Thanks! This has been a very interesting event for Socal, as summer rain in the coastal areas, especially to this magnitude, is quite rare here! Hopefully the PNW gets some beneficial rains soon to help improve the air quality and help to extinguish the fires in the region!
  4. It is rather windy right now here in Orange with moderate to somewhat heavy rain continuing. I have my window open a bit and can really hear the wind howling through the trees.
  5. By the way, I hope they get the Reaction Buttons fixed soon!
  6. Does anyone know what disabled the Reaction Buttons? I am wondering if it was a recent software update or upgrade.
  7. After stopping for a little while, the rain has once again picked up here in Orange over the last 15-20 minutes.
  8. The air looks quite nasty from the Space Needle cam right now (as of the 12:30 pm shot).
  9. Tropical storms can sometimes make landfall in AZ when travelling up the Gulf of California. I believe Nora did just that back in September 1997.
  10. So far here in Orange this has been a steady light to moderate beneficial soaking rain almost having the look of a winter storm, only that it is warmer and much more humid. The rain started just after 3 am. There hasn't been any wind to speak of and there is just a slight breeze right now. This will definitely put a damper on the fire danger in Socal for a while. Hopefully we get a couple of more rain events between now and the start of Santa Ana season to help with the fire danger as we go into fall.
  11. I wonder what caused the Reacts to stop working? Possibly a software upgrade?
  12. Did a software update cause the reacts to stop working or was it something else?
  13. It is really going to be interesting to see what we ultimately get with this system. We could be looking at a repeat of Dolores from July 2015, or something even more substantial and widespread. We will just have to wait and see when the time comes and what the model guidance indicates.
  14. A thunderstorm passed over my area with light rain, some thunder and a few flashes of lightning here in Orange early this morning between 4 and 4:30 am. Maybe it was outflow caused by this storm that led to the temperature spike in your area.
  15. A Watch is not official unless it is issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) or the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
  16. I think they should move the start of school back to around the 2nd week of September like it used to be back in the 1990's and before.
  17. I cannot react to any comment either and am getting the same error as was stated above. I am using a Desktop PC w/ Windows 11 & Edge.
  18. 0.03" fell here in Orange yesterday with the tropical moisture.
  19. Marine layer?? There has been monsoon moisture the last couple of days, but no marine layer to speak of, except possibly along and near the coast. There weren't any low clouds here in Orange yesterday morning even as early as 9 am.
  20. It's a sign the summer monsoon pattern is beginning to develop. I was down in Foothill Ranch and Rancho Santa Margarita late this afternoon and it was sprinkling for a while in those areas with even a slightly heavier shower for a brief time.
  21. It has been a lot sunnier here in Orange over the past few days than it was for much of May and the first half of June. Despite the warmer days, the nights have still been very cool, but that will probably change somewhat as warmer weather arrives later this week.
  22. The sun has come out here in Orange today, even though there is still some marine layer cloudiness to the south and southwest of here. It is clear to the east, though. Yesterday was the warmest and sunniest day here in Orange in quite some time.
