  1. I lived in the West Loop for a few years, but recently moved to Orland Park so the lake effect days will likely be long gone for me now while out here. This upcoming lake effect for Indiana is definitely looking very enticing to make the drive out to though. If this band sits anywhere for a prolong period of time totals could get out of hand very quickly!
  2. I was driving to Midway after work that evening. That was the heaviest snow I have ever seen. It was like someone was throwing massive snowballs one after another. I had the windshield wipers on full speed and it couldnt keep up. The guy driving in front of me was leaning out his window trying to brush the snow off his windshield as the snow was piling up so quickly on the side.
  3. One of my recent favorites was the February 2021 lake effect!
  4. Agree. I would be happy with anything more than a few inches. Didn't even use my snow brush last season which has carried into this season as well. We may get some in the morning before the rain melts it away.
  5. I think you jinxed us with the Euro going a little north
  6. Very remarkable! What could have been with this storm if the water and temps were even just a little cooler. I didn't think I would miss the days we would be discussing ice coverage and how much of open water is available to provide lake enhancement in storms like this.
  7. If it wasn't for the warm lake, I would think you would have been north enough to be golden. Hopefully you are far enough inland that the lake doesn't impact you as much, but I think it's anyone's guess and will become a nowcast for those near the lake.
  8. I am at the same latitude as you, just 25 miles west. Still concerned about being too warm especially after how the last storm went.
  9. After this awful winter I was so ready for spring and still somehow got lured back in with this storm that may not even be a storm
  10. Coming down pretty good here in the south suburbs! Huge flakes blowing sideways! Strange seeing snow again lol
  11. He hasn't mentioned too much as of yet other than it's something to keep an eye on especially with the lake enhancement.
  12. Welcome! I have worked in Tinley for years and just moved to Orland from the West Loop in November. I went the entire month of December without getting a shovel. Finally picked one up at the beginning of January haha
