  1. Winter weather advisory in effect tonight for the Salt Lake valley for 1-4" of snow.
  2. It would be awesome if he still taught it but he only really does graduate classes now. Professor Hoch seems really cool and knowledgeable about it. Winter weather advisory in effect for 1-4" tonight and tomorrow. Another storm should move in Saturday night with a few more inches of snow. Looking relatively boring after that. Hopefully we don't get bad inversions.
  3. I've only read a couple of chapters but its pretty good so far. David Whiteman is a professor here and is going to come in and do a couple of guest lectures.
  4. Just got my textbook for my mountain meteorology class. Hmmm, that mountain looks familiar. Edit: I have no idea why its rotated
  5. It's cold! I was used to it when I left but now that i'm back it feels so cold! Drove my car down here to go skiing second semester and my poor car is so not used to the cold, definitely having issues turning over.
  6. Only got up to 34 here in Salt Lake.
  7. Okay so I dont have any new snow pics from the PNW cause there wasn't any snow when I was home for break so here are some from Salt Lake. My friend from California's car looking quite out of place.
  8. Looks like it should be a pretty calm drive back to Salt Lake on Saturday, a sharp contrast to what it was showing this time last week. Freezing fog will be an issue from about Ellensburg to Pendleton but besides that should be sunny with temps staying around 30 most of the drive.
  9. Was just in Bellevue and it honestly feels like an early spring day.
  10. Brilliant sunshine here this morning! Still some high clouds but still quite nice, i've got the blinds open.
  11. Makes better sense, Union is still pretty icy before you get to about 238th, certainly better than West Snoqualmie. Novelty was still super backed up when I went out like 30 minutes ago. People are probably trying to avoid 202.
  12. Yeah, my neighborhood and most side roads were wicked icy this morning and traffic was awful! I assume you went from Ames Lake to west Snoqualmie Valley rd. That one ices over pretty bad too.
  13. I agree completely. My location does so well with fringe events usually but we haven't been able to get anything substantial. It's honestly pathetic. Was reading for a couple of hours hoping that maybe i'd look outside and we'd have some sort of wintery precip but no. 35.4 here with cold rain.
  14. Some more cold rain headed my way! My favorite!
  15. Brief dusting here that melted pretty quickly. Snoqualmie Valley had 1/4"-1/2" with slushy roads from 124th southward. Probably could have gotten 1/2" or more hereif the band hadn't stalled a couple miles to my SE.
  16. 35 all day with a mix of rain/snow, drizzle, and mist. Feels so cold out there because it's so damp!
  17. Went for a drive in the valley. roads were pretty slushy south of 124th. I'm sure 203 is clear for the most part but I took West Snoqualmie Valley Rd. down 100th to Carnation Farm rd, then back over 80th street and up West Snoqualmie. 80th wasn't very slushy but 100th was all slushy and west snoqualmie had clear tire tracks.
  18. Up at the coffee shop a couple miles to my east. Only like 1/2" of snow but the parking lots are snowy and slushy along with the main road.
  19. Same story here. I totally agree, all this fringy stuff is driving me nuts! I'm willing to bet you guys get snow once I leave
  20. Temp rising quickly now being stuck on the fringe of this. Webcams show snow covered roads a couple miles to my east. Frustrating as hell. By the time precip gets here it will likely be too warm
  21. Tiniest dusting of snow on the ground right now at 34 degrees. The band has been sitting just to my south and east for the last hour, looking at webcams the edge of my hill a couple miles to my east is getting some good accumulation. So frustrating. Hoping it eventually moves over here before it gets to warm or dies out.
  22. Hopefully we can get something with this band tonight, would make me feel less bad about missing a possible event next weekend.
  23. Just some light snow here now with heavy precip sticking to my west and east for the foreseeable future. The progress we had made on getting accumulations on all surfaces is also beginning to back track.
  24. Just got back from running errands in Bellevue. It was flurrying there most of the time but as soon as I got back only my hill the snow increased dramatically. Some accumulations but not much so far. Pretty big flakes. Hoping this dry slot sliding in from the south doesn't last too long.
  25. Yeah, it's wrong, and so was I! I should have looked at the radar progression more before I made that statement. Light flurries here now too.
