  1. Bear up 3-0 on Packers. Hawks up 3-0 on Zona. Let's keep the moment going. I want one more game!
  2. Maybe Kroger secretly operates these computer models. Show some big cold and snow storms coming for a week to boost post holiday sales. Trader Joes was crazy busy yesterday.
  3. Is it possible the Nor Easter is gumming up the works/models? On the ones where it shows the cold air just heading east it looks like those lack any significant SE ridge and the cold seems to just spread out east and fill the gap left by that storm surging up the east coast. Teleconnections I think is what they call it. Who knows. It's on. It's off. It's on. It's off. I will be utilizing the GOLU model starting Thursday. It's 100% accurate.
  4. Anybody concerned about the trajectory of the incoming cold? D**n near looks like it's going to have to jump the Cascades and spread west rather than a north to south ride. I just never like seeing/relying on cold coming from that direction. Those mountains can be hard to jump.
  5. I bring it in at night but I'm afraid if we don't get above freezing some days I won't be home all day to bring it in and warm it every hour. Hoping this device that straps to the bottom and uses a 40 watt bulb keeps things from freezing. Also ordered some hand warmers and will wrap the thing that holds the nectar in a sock and secure some of those to the sides.
  6. This is no joke. Could be a major snow dump for Central and Southern Oregon. Think feet of snow. Many feet.
  7. Does anyone here like hummingbirds? I just ordered a warmer for the nectar feeder from Amazon. Supposed to come tomorrow. Ms. Wiggles and Big Red are going to need nectar that isn't frozen. Love those little buggers. I call for Big Red every morning when the light increases and he buzzes in and greats me. Sometimes he's grumpy.
  8. This could be so powerful that the big snow dump is Northern California and Southern Oregon.
  9. I'm holding out hope for a surprise. These lows wobble around on the models all the time. If the model is off by 3 to 400 miles some of that cold air could be sucked into Washington or Oregon. Believe.
  10. My phone app has been on board for about three days. Woke up this morning and have lost the phone app. At best it shows a one day quick hitter and then back to regularly scheduled programming.
  11. I spent a lot of time trying to decode his writing over the years with not much luck.
  12. Does anyone here remember a poster by the name of Richard? He was really good tracking the cold air apparently. I couldn't understand most of what he posted, much like what Phil posts. I'm not really weather smart and it all just sounds like someone who is talking in code. I bet Richard could tell us if the cold air gets to us in a week or so. Would be nice to have something to track for a week or so before we move into Spring.
  13. That is a really cool picture. Thanks for sharing. I saw one like this in Yellowstone a few years back on a road trip.
