It’s interesting seeing the changes in model riding over the years. Ten years ago the model riding process seemed different. Makes it more fun as we try to nail down the timelines for when models will flip and win or not win out. -

1.5” here in north Seattle today. Might get to 2” with these rates. -
I took the same class at UW but 8 years later. I can’t remember who the professor was. Definitely wasn’t Mass.
-
Really?! How much rain did you get yesterday?
-
Pretty impressive rain totals around Brookings. Some places got over 7” today.
-
Tomorrow afternoon looks like a fun wet and windy afternoon before it clears out.
-
Some of those rainfall rates tonight look very impressive. Don’t think I have seen such intense projected rates outside of thunderstorms.

We’ve seen it happen before when a similar pattern re-occurs 4-6 weeks later… -

Driving back I90 and cool seeing the wisping clouds along rattlesnake ridge and clouds welling up in the valleys of the ridge. -

Get to spend the next few days in Spokane at a healthcare conference. Got a great spot for weather viewing but looks like nothing exciting weather-wise during my time here:( -

Don’t miss the pregame intro. Best intro of all Seattle sports. -

If the station doesn’t update then it has to be an inaccurate reading. I have always felt the SEA station doesn’t accurately read rainfall but that’s just my novice opinion. -

There’s no way. The storm passed over the airport but the heaviest was right over the northern part of the airport. Even if the gauge was on the south end of the airport it would have read at least .05 or more. -

That just passed along the SEA rain gauge so curious what it gets. A lot of stations right at the edge have 1.1-1.3” of rain but just south of the airport around .7-.8” -

Wasn’t sure if I should give this a lol emoji or scream emoji. We need one that does both. -

Looks like the ecology dept smoke forecast models are fairly accurate. About a week ago they called for another smoke intrusion Friday into Saturday and sure enough it is back. Not terrible though as AQIs are in the upper 40s to upper 50s. -
Ya the forecast models greatly improved for this weekend which is nice.

-14 for the high today at SeaTac. Pretty impressive.
