  1. 2.5" here, and probably about 0.25" liquid. Our snow is cold and dry, but also dense. No big, fluffy flakes over here.
  2. Over here in Iowa the ratio is only about 10 to 1, due to tiny flakes and some wind helping to compact it.
  3. The GGEM and UK have now gone under 0.20" here. For us, this system is slowly fading into another nickeler. The date for this storm should be Feb 4/5, not 3/4 like the thread title currently says.
  4. A day before the storm I put our absolute minimum snowfall at 2". I ended up with 1.7" The late Friday models weren't far off with the precip total (model avg was ~0.20", I got 0.18"), but that was down quite a bit from earlier and on top of it the snow to liquid ratio ended up being awful.
  5. The NAM, in particular, is showing exceptional digging in the western US.
  6. Yep. The precip shield looks good south and southwest of Iowa early on, but then it makes little northward progress. Given how far southeast the surface low is, the upper low will really need to cut nw.
  7. The euro had two real nice runs yesterday for eastern Iowa with about 0.37" of precip falling in CR, but the 12z took a big chunk of that back, knocking 1-2 inches off of the totals. The model average is around 0.25-0.30". That would be the best precip of the month, but it's still just another dimer. We are having trouble getting out of the nickel & dimer rut.
  8. About 2 inches here, with a lot of drifting on the driveway.
  9. And to my east. The general consensus now appears to be favorable for places like Decorah/Dubuque/Clinton/Freeport/Sterling. Cedar Rapids should get something, but we'll be on the warmer sw edge where the ratios will be lower.
  10. Got a few hundredths of an inch of rain/freezing rain, but no snow at all. The CR airport was gusting over 50 at 8am.
  11. I've always felt eastern Iowa belongs with southern WI and northern IL, weatherwise. West and south of Des Moines is connected more to the plains region. Plus, I've always watched Skilling and I have family in Chicago.
