  1. Great pics tom, what not warm enough yet to get the x mas lights down?? Ha! Mine been down since late December, been a little more boring around these parts!!
  2. That is crazy, back to back winters with snowfall in the mid to upper 80's!! The most Lincoln or Omaha has had in a season is 60, then the following year was sucky. I couldn't imagine living in the 70's and receiving that much snow fall.
  3. This storm has quit the surprise, I ended up with 4". Caught these sun dogs this morning.
  4. Ended up with 4", not bad I'll take it. Tough to measure considering there were bare spots and then 2-3' drifts. I caught these sun dogs this morning.
  5. I see that, 20-30 DBZ on the radar return that's pretty impressive. Winds will really blow that around as the ULL pulls off to your east.
  6. I'm up to 4" and still snowing light to moderate. The winds were for sure stronger than they were predicting; gusts up to 40 was not in the forecast. I would have to say a very pleasing result overall especially since Hastings was calling for 1-3 on my grid with winds 10-15 gusts to 25!
  7. It looks to me the 18z nam is further north; I'm now in the 6" range!
  8. That's further NW than this morning. Also, places north of me were calling for 1-2" they are now up to 2-4 in their grid. Moderate snow here right now; visibility a half a mile and snow flakes are very grainy. Sitting around an inch, hoping to get up to 5 by the time all is said and done.
  9. I would say around an inch right now. Hoping to pick up another 3 or so.
  10. You guys are looking great, I'm saying you should end up in the 10-12" range with over a foot just to your west. Enjoy and take some pics!
  11. Just drove back from Rising, I teach over there at the middle school, visibility around a half a mile. Flakes are very small but it's blowing around with ease. Heavy bands setting up right over you guys in Lincoln and that will be pivoting right into my area! I would be shocked if they don't up grade you guys. I'm thinking my area ends up just shy of that but I will be fine with that if I finish with 3-5" which I'm predicting. By the way school closed at 1:30 for me if you didn't catch that; another snow day for this teacher!! Have fun boys, finally getting something worth a darn!
  12. 18z gfs and nam both give me between 4-6" I would love to see that. On a side note for how dry the atmosphere is I have had virga falling all day. Radar returns very impressive and nothing to show for it. Hoping for an upward storm total for all!
  13. Reason Hastings did that is b/c that covers the entire warned area. 1-2 for northwest counties, 2-4 middle counties and 6-8 for far se counties. Your talking a crazy gradient for snow fall in just my area, samething for oax, I would be happy to see 2-4 but I might be more in line for 1-2.
  14. When somebody gets a chance post euro if you would, thanks.
  15. Thx guys, don't get me wrong I would be fine with 2-4 and you guys 6-10. Just please no shift to the south east and take all of us out of it! I'll take what I get and hopefully by winters end we get a Colorado low that clobbers the entire state.
  16. Same boat for me, we finally get a storm in my area and dry air looks to cut into totals. 6-10" of snow looks to fall 30 miles south of me and I'm stuck with 1-3. We shall see; I have seen these storms change course for better or worse the day of the event. Hopefully for both our sakes it does just that.
  17. If it wasn't for dry air and that hp to the north of us we wouldn't have to worry about such a sharpe cut off in the precip. It won't take much for things to change for everybody; this will literally come down to the day of the event to play out.
  18. In terms of the snow we have had this year and it isn't much, I would say you have won for this part of the state. Ever snow we have had it's been the same story for me, a brush by I have seen half the amounts every time from what Lincoln received. I'm not complaining just not my year...
  19. Man that is a sharp cut off, I hate these types of storms! Congrats to those of you in Lincoln you win again, I'm on the short end; tale of this winter for me.
  20. Points west of there not so happy, just not my year around my area. Have been on the edge of every storm we have had. Congrats to those that get hit.
  21. It has to be isn't? I'm guessing euro wins out with a blend of the nam/gfs with those lollipop numbers located in se nebraska, maybe 8+.
  22. Nam still holds its strength, if anything comes in wetter here. Lincoln has a nice little smug of 12". I just don't get it, gfs had the most snow but in a narrow band; euro has widest snow shield but not much precip. Which one to trust??
  23. The models are weird today; nam holds its ground and is by far the wettest. GFS has the heaviest amts except it's in a narrow corridor. Euro has the widest deformation zone and yet the snow fall forecast is the smallest amt. I have to say things are still trying to get worked out, I'm hoping for a EURO track with the GFS result. That would make everyone happy in Eastern NE/Kansas
