  1. 3rd night this week with a WWA for 2-3". 27 right now and I'm hoping last nights snow doesn't melt.
  2. Woah both the GFS and Euro show quite the snowy weekend for central OR. 6-8" seems possible.
  3. Picked up another 1.4" last night bringing my season total up to 8" scattered over 6 minor events. Despite it being 23F right now, there is some melting going on now that the sun is coming out.
  4. This is like the 10th time someone has incorrectly said this this winter.
  5. Only reached 25 here in Bend today. 21 now with mostly clear skies and calm winds. Should be a cold one with some snow on the ground.
  6. Got a little over a half inch this morning. I actually was up on Bachelor for most of it, but 15" fell up there overnight and today so it was nice to see a good dump. Winds switched to northerly here so we're getting upslope and some light to moderate snow now. Currently 25 degrees so everything is sticking nicely.
  7. This won’t be very special for you and me. Cold and dry? That’s normal. Sounds like just slightly cool nights are ahead. We reached 7 under a warmer airmass last week. Nothing is even showing us reaching that again.
  8. Jeez he doesn’t post for an hour and you miss him?
  9. 52/7 so far here today. Lowest min of the season, skied this morning, and now hiking with pups this afternoon.
  10. Near Ft. Still in Medicine Park, SW of OKC. I really enjoyed the wildlife refuge and definitely want to visit again during tstorm season.
  11. Just got home from a week in OK visiting family. Pretty darn boring weather there. Got back midday today and we had about 1.5" of snow in my backyard. Technically the largest snowfall of the season so far. Tonight should be pretty cold, hoping it gets into single digits.
  12. Really happy the mountains will get a good refresher. 1-2” of snow and a low of 12 isn’t all that impressive here. Not that that’s what’s exactly going to happen.
  13. Indeed. Last year was absolutely amazing and this winter has been crap no matter where I am travelling. In the future when I see 17/18 analogs I'm going to puke.
  14. Visiting some family near Lawton, OK for the week. I gotta say this is some incredibly lame and ugly weather. Cloudy, dry, and cool is my least favorite weather.
  15. I honestly don’t really care about a strong La Niña all that much. The best winters in my area the last 30 years or so have been best in weak -ENSO.
  16. By 2020 we’ll be hearing about multi year La Nina’s in the mid 2020s.
  17. Thanks. So basically I’m just looking for a lot of moisture? Like high PVs? And yes my absolute favorite is the wraparound NE flow in the winter which, as you said, hammered us a few times last winter. I like a suppressed jet.
  18. I have a question I thought of the other day that I thought would be pretty good for you. Of course we get a lot of shadowing here in central OR, but what are the key parameters I should look for when trying to see if precip will actually make it over the crest? I understand generally SW or S flow is ideal for rain, but what are other important albeit less obvious reasons for a frontal band getting completely caught up in the Cascades as opposed to it being able to push through?
  19. Sunny and 66 here in Bend right now. Spring-like.
  20. Tim goes on vacation and people complain he is posting here the whole time and then when he stops everyone is ready to put out an Amber Alert.
  21. Managed to pick up about 1.5” of snow in Bend last night until around 2-3am. South winds kicked up and now we’re at 52 degrees with no snow.
  22. That’s not what multiple people have expressed.
  23. The point isn’t that he’s right or wrong. It’s that he just shoots down any chance of something good before the model run even gets there. I’m not sure if it’s trolling or just being wrong but it’s annoying. I can draw certain comparisons to a Nate on fb.
  24. Snowing pretty good here in Bend. Sticking to all surfaces and accumulating nicely now. Hope it doesn’t warm up soon.
  25. What just annoys me is the fact you’ll give crap for doing what your doing now. Posting 10 day surface maps and 15 day EPS maps that you’d give flack for other people for posting. Personally, I like all the maps so if you continued what you’ve been doing the last couple days then that’s fine. It just irks me when someone will post a 10 day surface temp map and you say “Well it’s a surface map 10 days out” then do it yourself. BTW I don’t always think you do it to be a Debbie downer necessarily. Edit: just to clarify; I’m not objecting to your posts this week, just the flack you’ll give others for doing the same on other occasions.
