  1. Over here, surrounded by the Lakes, mby will rarely see a -15*F or lower reading. This is at least the 4th time this winter we've done it. Crazy stuff this season!
  2. I'll add Marshall (KRMY): 85.8" Closing in on DOUBLE of what I have scored both of the past two seasons..
  3. Had about 1.5" of TSSN this morning at home in Marshall and it snowed lightly most of the day only going over to rain in the last hour. Here I was expecting a deluge My 2nd highest snowbank near my garage door is DOWN to 54". What a winter!
  4. Fantastic man! I love everything about that photo - the house - the snow - the pines of various sizes and shapes - the purple-ish hues too
  5. Dude, over 400 posts and still have no idea where you are..just sayin. You may want to add a locale..
  6. Time to face it. We've got a bill coming due for the Morch two years ago, and it looks like we're gonna have to pay it. Paybacks are h*ll
  7. Wow! at this winter Tom. Nice shot too! Good Luck over there. Hoping SWMI can get in on the bullseye area too!
  8. Scored a solid 2" of fluffy stuff and it was still falling like gentle cotton balls until about 10am. Definitely one of the better ones for mby recently. After tomorrow, might be closing in on an 80" season at home.
  9. Ya, this year feels so "That 70's Show" it wouldn't surprise me to see it go that way. Especially with Europe having had a stretch run of cold snowy winters while we had kinda the opposite going on.
  10. I work 83 miles away from home through the middle of the SWMI snowbelt. Man-up! (or call me crazy - your choice)
  11. Yes it was! As good as you could hope (ask) for and come out on the short end of the stick.. (no pun intended)
  12. Tom, nice observations. I too have been thinking about the winters over there and my sister-in-law in Russia (Europe side) is missing the snow this winter. Seen a couple pic's from my wife's girl friend from last March (I think it was March anyways) and their snow OTG looked just like S. Michigan does right now. Tons of snow in comparison to "normal". Before last summer, we had about (3) hot years in a row, so I share your concerns about the potential of Ma Nature balancing us out with a string of below normal temps maybe during winter. Similar to '76-'79 era for this region. It's happened before, though this winter, much like the spring/summer of 2012 may be writing the new definition of extremes, at least where Southern Michigan is concerned. On our local wx forum, we're calling what this winter is doing "uncharted territory", especially for Detroit and SEMI. Been even more epic there! Another similar irony is the lack of snow in Sochi for the Olympics right on the heals of such cold/snowy winters. Sound familiar? Think Lake Placid circa 1980..
  13. Golden Era! Look at the top (4) seasons in about what? an 12 year span! I was a kid back then and grew up thinking that was "normal". Adult years have been a large let-down for the most part (this yr excepting of course) Holy Crap Batman!! Big time NAM slam! 'grats again on those double digits! Wouldn't be surprised if this trends bigger. Been our trend and this dude looked strong over the PAC
  14. Congrats over there nikos! Forecast Mission FAIL for LOT, GRR, DTX!! (again sadly) Ma Nature giving a beat-down on those three offices. Only IWX (hype office, right??) had a clue with WSWatch and Warnings posted.
  15. True, but that was like Nov or early Dec. This IS the time of year that climo would favor them scoring. Plus, our bottle of "NW trend" is running low..
  16. NOT over here in mby! Huge flakes, +SN at times, and totals look on track. Winter wonderland out there right now. Gotta be pushing 20" OTG with the fresh 4+ from today's event.
  17. I'm excited for ya too NEwx! Been 3 yrs before this Jan waiting for a Warned event. Hoping this comes through for ya the way its looking! Cheers!
  18. My Bad. I'm in SCMI, Marshall to be exact. 49068 (haven't had time to update my profile since the new forum format rolled out) That's CPC's days 3-7 hazards map, so for the big(ger) storm Tues/Weds.
  19. Well, latest CPC hazards has bumped north, from mby over to Nikos are "in"
  20. Tom, we're already pretty much buried across SWMI with 18-36" OTG and every map painting more and more as these events approach 0-hr. I've wished my whole life to see this kind of winter come together and now I'm beginning to wonder if it doesn't get out of hand at least around here. KIds are out of school a ton, work office sent everyone home, the heating bills are just now hitting folks, the private plower that bid a fixed price is abandoning clients, municipalities are surely stretched as you noted. It's getting bad enough with these 4-8" events and the cold plus wind events. If we take another direct hit with a (that) big dog, it would be unparalleled in this region's modern history and the impacts to life and commerce may be significant. Excepting for '78 and '79, most of our biggies have come in with little or no snow OTG. With what we have out there right now, I could see this region being declared a disaster zone for purposes of federal aid and assistance. Roof collapses, etc.. This region just isn't set up to cope with what may well be looming. Not trying to sound any alarms or anything, but I have a growing concern we could be heading towards uncharted waters for SMI, and especially SWMI. By the way, thanks for all the time and effort you put in on this board. I like this forum a bunch.
  21. Once in a life-time storm! SImply amazing for those hardest hit regions.
  22. We're doing a bit better in SW Michigan then. After today, should range from about 12" inland, to 20+ in the snowbelts west of Kalamazoo. Got about 4" at my place and upwards of a foot fell in some of the LES belt counties since last evening. Lots of drifting has caused N-S roads to become impassable in the counties and vehicles abandoned too. If tomorrow gets drifts going some more - watch out!
  23. ..been there, done that! (months ago now) Massive LES plumes have been all the rage this season, haven't they? Now if we can keep the lake from going into solid state territory, more could score!
