I just thought this was interesting. That storm on the East side of the state, you can see the radar echoes better with the Portland radar than the Pendleton radar. I'm guessing the Blue Mountains are blocking the radar for the Pendleton station. It also shows how high base these thunderstorms are
We do get many dry heat days with offshore winds, and the 1st half of summer is mostly dry for us.
It's the 2nd half with mostly onshore winds that brings brutal humidity. Average July high for the airport station is 108°F. Being a bit inland for me it would be 110-112°F.
Summer is officially defined here as May-September. Autumn and spring are only two months each.
