  1. Cold front has just passed through here. Now let's see how fast the temperature tanks. So far it's down about 10 degrees in 20 minutes.
  2. Saw a report the AO hit it's highest level ever on Monday.... Beat a record from 1990.
  3. Yep! My biggest snowfall here is 2.7" and I've only had over 1" fall from a storm 2x.
  4. I saw there was snow down in the north Atlanta suburbs a few days ago and they've now had more snow than Philly and D.C. this winter
  5. Heard lots of birds this morning for the first time. It's frosty and in the 20s, but with no wind and a sun that is getting stronger it felt pretty nice out.
  6. The cold has once again disappeared for here (actually fine with me) this week as we have a one day shot of cold air on Thursday with highs in the 20s then it warms right back up. The rest of the week has highs in the 30s and 40s.
  7. Meanwhile temperatures in Antarctica are running SIXTY degrees ABOVE NORMAL and this is after the warmest January for the planet on record. That would be like Omaha being in the upper 90s right now. We rarely make it to 100 here in the dog days of summer. https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2020/02/07/antarctica-just-hit-65-degrees-its-warmest-temperature-ever-recorded/
  8. They're opening a new one here in Omaha right off the interstate. Looks like a cool place. Cool little tidbit of information: last I heard Omaha has the highest number of golf courses per mile(or some other measurement) in the country. All over the place here in town....
  9. Of course at that point is when it will decide to stay in the 30s through the middle of May
  10. 0Z GFS and Canadian with no storm middle of next week. Looks like a long stretch of NW flow and clippers for those that love that garbage pattern
  11. At this point I wouldn't bank on the cold either. It's been coming since December....
  12. I somehow ended up getting 7.9" of snow in January so my season total is 13.1" which is about normal for the year. Of course it's taken 13 measurable snow events to get to that total....
  13. We actually had a decent snowpack too. By decent I’d say maybe 2” on average this morning. I definitely wasn’t expecting 60 today based on snow cover and models showing the front and cool air moving in sooner. Took a pretty big hit of course today but there’s still a little left and it’s not just the piles.
  14. Managed to hit 60 at about 230. Even better is the very light winds.
  15. 57 here. Might try to make it to 60 before the cooler air starts to work in later this afternoon.
  16. I'm worried we miss out on a lot of the warmth here in Omaha. Might be too far east on Saturday to get real warm, and then on Sunday the models have been showing the front slipping through pretty early in the day where we might be too far north to get very warm.
  17. 12Z GFS has 50s here next weekend. If it’s going to be that nice at least it’s on the weekend!
  18. The models have been horribly too high with this system. I remember when the Euro and others were showing 10-12" for eastern Nebraska, and then Missouri. Now it's showing 9-10" for Illinois.
  19. I heard sometime in February it's supposed to get really cold again
  20. It's been snowing for a few hours now but no accumulations. Everything is melting with a temp of 34 degrees.
