If you talk about the weather during Thanksgiving and get doughnut-holed on snow maps it's because the models account for jinxes. That's just science. -

It makes it more fun when you read people excitedly posting, who just last night, let us all know that they were "done", and "taking a break", or "walking away for a while"... sure you are -

It's funny to me how the firehose was pointed to Portland recently in the models while the maps showed a modest 3" for Seattle, however I didn't hear any crying up here in Wa. -

My weather enthusiasm started when I was a kid and my siblings would wake me up to watch the school closures scroll across the tv. I loved it when my older brothers high school was 2 hrs late and my middle school was closed! -

I helped 4 stuck drivers last year on my way home from work when the snow hit. One was a new F-250 WSDOT truck being driven by a kid who had no idea what he was doing. He had no clue how to put it in 4 wheel drive. As soon as he got it in gear he had no problem. The second was in the same location at a traffic light. The girl had moved up from California and had bald tires on a c-class Mercedes and with a lead-foot, she kept spinning and drifting closer and closer to an embankment. Experienced driving matters in snow. -

As a duck hunter we need wind and rain or an extended period of freezing temps.. Needless to say, it's been a rough season so far. Historically don't most major PNW wind events occur in November?
