  1. That explains the posts that require translation to understand. (But thanks Phil! I love learning about all kinds of cool meteorology and climate topics through you!)
  2. Yeah last year was probably the worst allergy season I can remember. This explains – at least in part – why you love chilly rainy weather in spring
  3. Have you seen the new GFS ensemble selector? You can actually select more specific locations too. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/en/show_diagrams.php?model=gfs&lid=ENS&var=201&bw=&geoid=135728
  4. 59 here with some light rain. I've been enjoying these days that end up around 60-65... mostly dry with some periods of light rain.
  5. Your leafage looks quite a bit more progressed than the trees around Gresham. It seems we are behind a week or two.
  6. Yeah, you always get the good wind storms!
  7. 75 today in NYC and a nice lightning show this evening. Not bad!
  8. I'm not sure about the midwest, but east coast has had a pretty uneventful winter for the most part. Two weekends ago here in NYC there was a massive bust – NWS had a WSW issued for 10"+ of snow and virtually none fell! Gresham has easily had more snow the past month and a half than NYC has had all winter.
  9. I'd kill for some heat and humidity in NYC right now. It's been so cold that I was walking around without a jacket in 52 degree weather a few days ago...
  10. Just saw a surprise snow shower move through in midtown Manhattan! It's cold AF outside...
  11. Massive bust in Lower Manhattan. Not much snow here. NWS has a report of 3.8” in Central Park so I’ll see what it’s like in midtown later this morning. It’s nice to know busts aren’t just limited to the PNW
  12. Snowing lightly in downtown Manhattan. Still seems to be upper 30s with pretty low dewpoints.
  13. When I was there the roads had huge banks of snow on the sides. One pile of snow in a parking lot down by the river was 2-3x taller than me...
  14. There's a lot less snow there than when I was there a few weeks ago.
  15. 12Z ECMWF is slightly lighter on totals compared to 00Z but still looks good. I like the ensemble agreement too for NYC – at least 6"!
  16. I'm usually over in the PNW threads but I'm in NYC for the month – what's going with the local NWS office? I've seen them repeatedly forecast dry or rain only to cave to snow at the last minute. And I'm seeing models forecast snow in the coming days without much mention from NWS...
  17. That's probably not taking the east wind into account.
  18. 33 here and about 1/2” on the ground as well. A nice surprise!
  19. Snowing here in SE Gresham from a little freak shower passing through... this was unexpected.
  20. It’s super long and difficult to scroll past. And then everyone quotes it and you have to scroll through more. It’s easier to just post a link - you can see the past several AFDs from the website very easily too.
  21. 37 here in Vancouver, WA with a bitter east wind and cold rain.
  22. We do have to confront the fact that we're going into the second half of February and eventually March. Even if troughs continue it will be moderated compared to what's possible earlier in the season.
