Looks like Santa Ana winds starting late tonight and offshore flow lasting into at least the middle of next week.

This is a good time to fix any roof leaks in preparation of what may be another wet winter down here.

I didn't realize there were still parts of the country in which a gas station attendant pumps gas for you. I have lived in CA my entire life and all the gas stations here are self-serve, in which you have to pump your own gas, and that has been the case for quite a few years now. There used to be full service at gas stations here, in which an attendant would do it for you, but you always had the option of self-serve, too.

This fall season so far has been just some drizzlefests, but hopefully we get some more significant storms as we head into November.

No they aren't. They bring cooler weather, which is better than having extreme late season heat, and they can also bring beneficial rainfall to the region.

I would say that it has been quite uneventful so far this fall just from the lack of activity in this thread as of late. Hopefully the action begins to pick up soon!

They shouldn't come that early, as many people are still asleep at 7 am. Not everyone is a morning person or has to get up at the crack of dawn.

It was not good for Socal, though, as Los Angeles had its driest season on record that year. I believe Norcal and points north did much better, though.

What do you have in mind for the winter colors? Possibly white to represent snow, light blue to represent ice, or something along that line?

The air quality has been bad today in Orange for some reason. It is somewhat better this evening, but could be better. I wonder if some smoke from the Norcal and southern Oregon fires got caught up in the flow pattern here the last couple of days, like it was further north earlier in the week?

I believe there is a large fire in SW Oregon, but there may be other fires in that area, too.

It was partly cloudy here in the afternoon in Orange with blue skies, puffy cumulus and stratocumulus clouds, and good visibility. There was not a hint of smoke here at all today and I had my windows and doors open to let in the fresh air.

Sun is out here in Orange this afternoon after being overcast all day for two days straight.

It is definitely beginning to feel like early fall here in inland coastal Socal.
