The new NWS stat stuff is pretty cool honestly. Made it easy to just pull up rankings for monthly mean temps.
I’d still definitely say this is still very much up there with the all the other post 2012 summers but not the worst of the bunch either. Atleast up in Western Washington. Probably the best summer since 2020 (pre Labor Day firestorm)
Well as I mentioned earlier, I think you can maybe help me out with a little research project. I was attempting to find out if there had ever been a 5 consecutive month stretch before 2021 (which did it April-August) at PDX with both below average precip anomalies and above average temperature anomalies (however small ). This using the 1991-2020 baseline. I'm not sure that there has been.
So I believe this year likely will join 2021 there but I could use your stats sorcery and calm, cool, always objective demeanor in potentially fact-checking that one for me. Thanks!
