I flew into Denver in October 2020 and there was a ridiculously massive fire burning, don't remember it's name, but I believe at the time it was one of the biggest in Colorado state history. After going through what we went through in September, it was a bit surreal to see the pyrocumulus cloud from the air. On my way back 4-5 days later I stopped again for an overnight layover in Denver and it snowed about 6".
My avatar picture is my dearly departed Llwellian Setter Molly. It was taken in a rowboat I rented in August 2012 at Olallie Lake. She did well in the boat. We caught a few stocked rainbow and a nice brook trout, she snapped at the swallows as they buzzed around us. She was the most beautiful dog I have ever known. I spent a few days in a cabin at Olallie Lake that August, there were some smallish fires going on to the east of Ollalie Lake, but no one seemed concerned about them. Of course the area around Monan Lake was burned in a fire around the turn of the century. My first wife, Molly, and I walked the trail around Monan Lake. My first wife was pregnant with our oldest daughter. It's a good memory, and it feels like it happened in a different life.
