Anyone up for the night shift?

I had a feeling we would maybe see the models flip back to colder solutions because of the MJO going into phase 7 which is normally pretty good this time of year for us.

Yep, and this time I think it's legit. The timing is right at that Jan 19-22nd too although that might be a touch too soon. We'll see.

Models took a turn tonight. In a good way. 00z GFS was colder pattern sets up Day 8. 00z AI-GFS cold onshore flow. 00z GEFS big improvement. 00z ECMWF very cold pattern sets up Day 8-9'er. 00z EPS-AIFS very nice improvements. What's interesting is the timing is exactly on par with when we were model riding a week ago back when the ECMWF/EPS looked really cold. Hmmm.... C'MON!!!! Night Shift 6z GFS in 22 minutes
