I absolutely agree with you. There are winters that, when I used to do a massive amount of analog years, would throw my snow total because several of the largest snows ever here have been in March. When I was young, it was almost engrained that March was the snowiest month in total, but it was just that the extremes of exceedance happened so many times after 1988 ('88, '93, '95, '96) or so that it was a "rule". Turns out it was a trend. After the ice storms in 1999 and the solid winters of 2000 and 2001, it was as if the trend stopped.
Anyway, ditto that. Its the same here.
