We'll just go full penetration in mid to late August with significant east wind and a fire then starts in Walterville and hops the river. The Santiam and Clackamas river are also fuckked. Good luck fire crews that are already spread thin. Gonna be wild to experience spot fires starting as the city is of course evacuated in what will certainly be an orderly fashion. The tinderbox that is still left over from the great Jan 2024 ice storm is going to make it worse.

It's amazing how much the Cascade's protect the west from fire smoke. Winds permitting, but it's still amazing. Nespelem's surrounding area is being evacuated and the town is surrounded by evacuate level 3 zones (go now!). Truly a horrifying time for those people.

If you’re trying to book with no preparation sure. Tell me what are the options? Cheaper tickets to make the lines even longer? I feel for those that aren’t able to make it up as much, that’s how it was for me until I moved to Bend. It’s a top 5-10 largest resort with a top 5-10 longest season.
