  1. This month will go down in the record books for sure. YVR's average high/low so far are 2.2/-4.2 (or 36.0F/24.4F). What's even more amazing to me is the warmest temp reached at YVR so far is 8.5C which of course occurred on the first of the month. This winter has definitely been redeemed! I never thought it could or would happen.
  2. I didn't measure but I'd say 7-8". which is less than I got last February when I got a foot.
  3. Snow just stopped here. Had a nice bout of heavy to moderate snow for 1.5 hours. :)
  4. Don't they use salt? It works incredibly well and could have prevented this.
  5. Like I said a week or so ago, the only real shot will be around Valentine's day, if at all. But I have a feeling even that period will just end up being 45F and cloudy or a rainy 35F.
  6. It appears any kind of snow/cold is out of the cards this winter. Just accept it.
  7. 36F and clear here with some wispy high clouds. I'm sure the clouds are on their way. It's been a nice sunny stretch. Sunday was downright spring-like, which was absolutely wonderful. Thank fuck this month has been drier thus far than the previous four months.
  8. Look for action around Valentine's day guys. That is our last window of opportunity, barring any March 2012 events.
  9. Yeah pretty much. What a ridiculously bad wet winter it's been so far.
  10. ^It's likely that neither will pan out but more an agglomeration of the two will end up being what we see.
  11. It's also reasonably protected from mild oceanic air, relative to say...Vancouver for example.
  12. Where the hell is that? I'm guessing that's on Burnaby Mountain? It looks like Metrotown/Central Burnaby though. I finally saw some snow flakes today but it was mixed with rain most of the time.
  13. A couple days ago it was looking pretty good for snow here. Today, the models have gone to shit. Hopefully things change for the better. I just don't get why the models have a tendency to show cold and snow and then everything goes to and moderates as the target date closes in. Why don't they account for the moderation in the first place since that is what happens nine times out of ten?
  14. I remember. Bellingham was hit really hard and several areas around here were hit hard, like New Westminster. That was quite a strange one! I've never seen anything like that in the summer in the PNW.
  15. I'm done with this climate. 35" of rain since September plus nearly 10" in the next 9 days forecast to fall. You can only take so much rain in this moss-infested place.
  16. If it's not gonna be cold enough to snow we may as well get some super windy weather. I wouldn't mind seeing as it's been ages since the last true windstorm in the greater region.
  17. Soon to be begging for blazing sunshine and temps in the 70s.
  18. Bros, stop shatting yourselves. It's going to be a great winter. I'm not an astroleger but it's an 8/9 winter. When was the last bad 8/9 winter?? Huh? Tell me!!! Yeah that's what I thoguht! There never waws a bad 8/()9 winter! :) :)
