  1. 2902 b actually! Looks like yours is one better than mine!!
  2. Correct, had it for a while but never got around to get it up online. Now of course I can't find the directions......
  3. I have tried getting my weather station online but can’t figure it out! Any tips?!
  4. Pretty amazing seeing the lake plume stream southwest while the main precipitation shield is coming in moving northeast!
  5. Now -32. Just insane cold high pressure sitting over us. My weather station is at -16.1 and dropping around a degree per hour. Might bottom out around -20 by day break. I stepped outside and it's mostly clear and man does it burn the lungs to breath!!!
  6. Temps since this morning have hovered between -6 and -8. Coldest day time high that I can remember being apart of! Also have a pretty stiff breeze which is blowing snow around in open areas. Looks like the arctic tundra out there!
  7. My goodness you have been the jack pot winner this week. I got my fare share but got missed by a couple. What is your snow depth?
  8. Just puking snow; so amazing how so little moisture can make these flakes so fat. My driveway was bare ground. I think this weekend has some curveballs to throw our way! IMG_1077.MOV
  9. Yeah I was watching my home weather station most of the night and was wondering why temps wasn’t dropping; look outside and it’s snowing! I don’t think I’ll get much over an inch or two but quiet the surprise!
  10. I got a fire hose pointed right at me, bring it! Big fat flakes falling I would love to score an inch or two out of this.
  11. If anyone deserves a map like that it's you! Been a long time since you guys have had anything beneficial in the snow department. Good luck!
  12. What's crazy neither 1983 or today even comes close to the winter of 1936! Despite the numerous individual cold records in jeapordy through the middle of the month, if the current forecast holds, the first half of February (1-15) will average almost 10 degrees warmer than the same period in 1936, when the average temperature through the 15th of the month was only -4.1 degrees in Grand Island.
  13. Amazing that the model is picking up on the snow that’s on the ground vs bare ground. Montana, North Dakota down to the south east through the central part of South Dakota have brown grass.....
  14. Sitting at 34.5” in my back yard. Hoping the back loaded winter continues to deliver! All the snow I have received has been in the December thru February time frame. I had an ice storm in November also, quiet the winter spread!
  15. This would be new to me. I have never experienced two or more consecutive days of below zero temps. Friday A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near 0. Friday Night A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -12. Saturday A 20 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near -3. Saturday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around -19. Sunday Partly sunny and cold, with a high near -1. Sunday Night A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -9.
  16. Was thinking the same thing. That by far is the gold standard when it comes to bitter cold. There was a week straight leading up to x-mas where temps never rose above zero. I remember a stretch in Jan. of 1996 that was pretty bad but not as long in duration as this event. Pretty amazing seeing what the models are forecasting for this coming weekend with temps.
  17. Received 4" yesterday and 2" today giving me a 6" total from both waves. Snow depth in my back yard is 12" and the top half is powder and the bottom half is solid ice! Just looks amazing; this year is turning out to be one of the best we have had in a long time.
  18. Exactly! Honestly I always say half of what long range models show is a winner! There is no doubt NWS and all media outlets are at another level and have better models to look at. I have to say though I trust and feel this board brings forth a pretty accurate account of what to expect. Also, Tom you nailed it on the head; for things to line up for everyone on this board would be exceptionally rare. Cheers to a February to remember for a lot of us!
  19. Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service North Platte NE 1117 PM CST Fri Feb 5 2021 .UPDATE... Issued at 1047 PM CST Fri Feb 5 2021 Radar and the short term models suggest a band of heavy snow is, and will set up across parts of the central Sandhills overnight. A few counties have been added to the Winter Storm Warning in effect across Custer county. The model blended forecast suggests 4 to 7 inches within the Winter Storm warning area.
  20. Going off now cast either the band of heavy snow will be wider or further up to the north and east. North Platte expanded the warning up in that direction! Bodes well for us down stream I would think! 21. I did the same thing with my students today! We had a stretch in Dec. of 2000 with single digit highs and consecutive days with below zero lows. Even then we didn't see a week straight of that! We are talking a week of below zero lows and maybe making it to 10 for a high! I was born in December of 1983, the 21st to be exact, and I swear to this day that's the reason I'm so in love with weather, snow and cold. We had 2 feet of snow on the ground, week straight of below zero temps and the line for the day was -10 for a high and -22 for a low!
  22. Nice little sliver of 12+ crossing right through my area! Just continue to spread the wealth models; it's always crazy how sharp the cut offs usually are with clippers. I'm usually on the southern end of these types of systems. I can't remember the last time Nebraska was in the center of clipper central.
  23. Ok this would be just insane. Even half that in the midwest would be an impressive back loaded winter. Feel so bad for North Dakota......but then this is like a once in a lifetime situation for our area. This is something that would be expected up there this time of year. The ice box month of Feb. looks like it might have some legs!
