The precipitation map is interesting to see.
It explains why areas north of Newcastle saw limited accumulations due to less precip. On the other hand if you were too far south, you saw rain or the snow was too wet.
Between Auburn and Renton was the golden zone. There were also higher totals in Bellevue Summit and North Bend, and which elevation helped make the totals even more insane up there.
If this snow wasn't super wet and constantly melting/compacting, we'd be measuring in several feet some places!
Yep and on the hills (well below 1000 feet) many neighborhood and local roads saw several inches of snow depth. Not just slush or a dusting.
