You don’t even have to make summer forecasts out here now because every year is basically the same with very little day to day variability.
A “hot” summer biases towards mid-90s while a “cool” summer biases to upper-80s. But both will have the same lows in the 70s every night. And very similar precipitation totals of 3-6”/month.
Tell me what is exciting about that? Especially from a forecasting standpoint? It’s pure stagnation.
Winter here is monotonous... dark and wet. 3-week stretches of light rain with temps in the 40s is normal. It all sort of blends together which is why we are so crazy about snow. Anything to break up the default gloom. We rarely have excitement like they do east of the Rockies in any season. This climate is benign year round. But summer is a very different kind of monotonous here... its just so nice.
