  1. That is also just an incredibly cool scene. Look at the clouds in the western portions of WA and Oregon and how they are HALTED by the mountains. Very cool looking. It kind of looks like running water. The clouds coming in from the Pacific are neat to watch as well.
  2. It was rain and showers all morning until about noon in Lynnwood and Everett. It was wonderful. I got soaked! I don't know when it started, but it was raining at 8:00am. The rain felt so good!!! It did not hit 70F here today. We were in the mid to upper 60s as out high.
  3. Nice day. I think we peaked in temperature here today. It hit 69F and is now 68F. And as advised, I checked ten miles inland to see what a non-sea-level temp is; 75F. Have a stupendous Sunday everyone. Look what I found out of pure luck, A pre-production, 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. These aren't for sale until autumn. It was being tested alongside an Escalade, and a Navigator. Everyone was looking at the Grand Wagoneer and lots of thumbs up by people at the parks today. Beautiful day to test drive those luxury SUVs. I would like to think these test-drivers and journalists aren't from this area and they are seeing the PNW in it's perfect state. Beautiful views of the Cascade's and Olympics for them to get some real glamour shots of these vehicles.
  4. Let's check out some current temps just for fun. All temps are from 8:30pm, give or take a few minutes. Coldest / Warmest WASHINGTON Bellingham 65F Everett 60F Seattle 67F Tacoma 67F Olympia 68F Longview 67F Vancouver 73F Ocean Shores 57F Port Angeles 58F Ellensburg 74F Yakima 85F Wenatchee 82F Kennewick 87F Walla Walla 86F Moses Lake 82F Spokane 81F OREGON Astoria 60F Newport 57F Coos Bay 59F Portland 74F Salem 73F Eugene 74F Medford 86F The Dalles 83F Bend 75F Burns 78F Ontario 91F Lakeview 77F CALIFORNIA Crescent City 55F Eureka 56F San Francisco 56F Yreka 85F Redding 93F ALASKA Juneau 67F Sitka 60F Anchorage 78F Fairbanks 78F Nome 42F Unalaska 54F
  5. I did a quick look (I don't know the temps earlier in the day) but I did check inland. It is currently 60F at 8:24pm at my current location. Ten miles eastward and inland from my current spot 62F. Going much further inland to Monroe, Washington, it is 64F. So yeah, it probably was in the 70s inland.
  6. Hey that is awesome! Congrats on the 'new' boat! That will be a lot of fun!
  7. Currently in the north Puget Sound in an area with constantly cool sea breeze.
  8. Third day in a row of sub-70 weather. Today topped out at 65F, now down to 64F. Just wishing for some rain and moisture. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoys this traditional PNW summer weather. It's lovely. I hope our friends on the eastside of our respective states are able to enjoy cooler weather too and the smoke dissipates. Wishing our firefighters the best as well.
  9. Yeah, lots of really great stuff you shared! I hope your back and bone issues get better as well. I can imagine it's very limiting. Hopefully I and others can share some neat stuff to make you smile and brighten your day.
  10. They really did. They would have fooled me. I didn't even know we could see Eastern Washington's weather from the west side here. That is pretty cool. I have a direct view of the Cascade's, but usually all I see are clouds if there is any type of weather over there. Nothing like the ones you photographed. Heck, if it was near a volcano, I would be real worried. Lol
  11. That is actually incredible! Very crazy pics to see them in person and the radar. Currently 58F in north Puget Sound. Topped out at 75F. That was our hottest day since July 4th which hit 76F.
  12. Some pretty cool photos in this topic. Thanks for sharing everyone. It's been a few years since anyone has posted. Maybe we can get this going again.
  13. I haven't read everything you've posted, but from what I've read, it is interesting. I guess I am commenting to say what you are sharing isn't being ignored. People are looking, even if they don't say anything. Cheers.
  14. Greetings everyone! I am new here and still exploring the forum. Just wanted to wish you all a great day and hope that smoke isn't too bad in your region. It doesn't look too great on the radars, but I know it's different in each area. Some have high smoke, some had low smoke. Other than that, I look forward to being part of the community!
  15. I'm new here and I don't know why so many people aren't being helpful. I think an upvote button would be nice as well. The site's owner from my knowledge appears to be iFred. I hope that helps out a little bit, Link. As for everything else, I am not sure. I use this site on a desktop computer as well and I see no upvote button, just a downvote and a handful of little emoticon gifs.
  16. Absolutely nuts Independence Day here. Fireworks nonstop, over a 1,000 people crowded into a small city park, no police guiding traffic, and people lit a park bush on fire with their sparklers.... Absolutely nuts. Thankfully a Park Ranger came (after all the damage) and kicked the remaining people out. Traffic was so bad and I've never seen so many people crammed into a park to watch a fireworks show and illegally set off fireworks themselves. Cars parked in front of cars, blocking cars, illegally parked on the road (like in the road), and some parking on people's lawns. Happy 4th. Something that isn't good though is a new-ish wildfire is expanding in Douglas County, Washington and is requiring some people to be evacuated. Let's hope we have no home loss. I will keep monitoring this as well. Doesn't seem to be a big smoke maker, but that is the least of my concerns when people's livelihoods are involved. This photos are from late in the afternoon Sunday. This is north of Rock Island and east of Pangborn Memorial Airport. This fire was sparked from unknown reasons, but clearly the dry weather isn't helping.
  17. We got a lot to be thankful for everyone. Happy Independence Day!
  18. Currently refreshing and cloudy 55F in Anchorage.
  19. Care to explain why? Also some sad news and probably still under-counted. At least 34 deaths in Western Washington due to the heat wave. Article I will be curious to see how many the heat claimed in the entire PNW when we get a better idea on the numbers.
  20. Blistering 74F in Everett today. Cool breeze, and the skies don't look all too hazy due the smoke. That's a positive. I feel bad for the folks out east. Hopefully the smoke will stay aloft and not go surface level.
  21. Digusting wildfires are going to be producing disgusting wildfire smoke throughout the PNW region. You have BC and California mainly to thank for the soon to come smoke. Oregon is also contributing a good amount this year as well. The two models below predict the smoke will be cover the Columbia Basin and the Puget Sound. It appears it will be mostly high atmosphere smoke which will make our skies look hazy, orange, and rather unpleasant. Thankfully no low level smoke yet it appears... and unless you live in the foothills or up in the clouds, air quality should be good through this first taste of wildfire smoke, one of our earliest tastes of it ever. Usually it comes in late summer. Another fun fact, Washington never has it's own wildfire smoke it sits in. It simply collects everyone elses for some reason. Thoughts and prayers to those whose lives were upended due to the disgusting wildfires in BC. It burned 90% of the small town of Lytton. How horrible.
