What will be really impressive is the period between 7am-1pm tomorrow, when the low deepens ~25mb in six hours. This is going to be an absolute monster, one of the strongest that our climate can physically produce.

This is just stupid. Today's low now around 1000mb is forecast to undergo hyper bombogenesis strengthening to 943mb. That's just over the next 18 hours. That's 57mb deepening! Unbelievable!
That was a really cool thing to experience. When I left the gravel lot up at Cougar Mountain it was a snowglobe. Heavy, wet snow, sticking to everything. Pretty slick. 600' down the hill at the intersection between Cougar Mountain Way and Lakemont Blvd it was a chunky rain, bare everywhere. Watched that transition in a matter of two or three minutes, or half a mile. Every block it got less snowy. Really reinforced to me just how important elevation is for snow. Below two thousand feet every fifty you climb makes a massive difference in how much snow you see and whether you see it.
