Looks somewhat better for ridge support with the AL cutting off further south and higher heights over the Bering Sea. Also the cutoff over the northern plains can't hurt compared with a broad open Arctic-eating trough across the east. It's very close to torching the Great Lakes, which feels like the only way we'll get any Arctic airmass to cross the Rockies.
