Which is what made 2023’s sudden winter-to-summer transition so jarring. Shortest spring I’ve ever seen around here.
Fall 2022 less so - it was very quick no doubt, but that’s not uncommon in the West with the beginning of inversion season and the collapse of the 4CH. Less so in California, and even here where all the latent heat in the ocean keeps our zonal flow pretty warm into early winter, but the intermountain West tends to collapse from summer to winter very quickly.
That may be in the future in this ever warming climate. Elon may start shipping us off to Mars in the future, to be able to survive with more hospitable conditions.
One could argue spring is early February through early June... longest spring anywhere in the country. In Minnesota they usually skip spring. Its cold and the trees are bare into early May and then suddenly its hot and humid and lush green.
