We drove through the ashes of the Pear lake fire where it crossed highway 97 around Clinton. Many homes along the highway were reduced to just a brick chimney and/or a metal wood stove pipe. The wind that came with that fire storm must have been intense as you could see large pieces of sheet metal wrapped around trees and utility poles. Dozens of hydro trucks were working to replace mile after mile of burnt utility infrastructure.
