Yesterday was the first 90 degree day for KC, plenty more on the way for the second half of the month
NWS Kansas City
Yesterday turned out to be the first 90 degree day of the year for Kansas City. That was 17 days later than the average first 90 degree day (5/27). It was the 31st latest first 90 degree day on the 136-year period of record
A line of thunderstorms produced an inch of rain of rain overnight. I had some small hail but nothing like the gorilla hail that Glenwood Missouri had.
We've been dry for 9 days in a row now and I don't see any good chance of rain for another week or more. We will have some slight chances early next week, but meaningful rain just isn't going to happen.
Meanwhile, it's been pretty warm with a number of days in the 90s and with relatively high humidity too. Summer is here.
