Most of the County has picked up some beneficial rain overnight. Ranging from as low as 0.49" at the Coatesville Airport to as much as 1.88" down in West Grove. Southern spots were for the most part near or over 1 inch while folks in the north were closer to the 0.50" to 0.70" of rain. We start the day muggy but a sharp cold front will cross the area between the 3pm to 5pm hour with another round of possible heavy storms and t-storms. Some spots could pick up another 0.5" to 1.00" of rain. Much cooler tonight with lows into the 50's and pleasantly cool to start July tomorrow with highs struggling to escape the mid 70's in the higher spots of the County.
Chester County records for today: High 103 degrees at Phoenixville (1934) / Low 46 at Devault (1988) / Rain 2.95" at Glenmoore (1973)
The CPC certainly is making adjustments around the here and the 4 corners region. Just 10 days ago, their JULY monthly outlook looked bleak in terms of precip around these parts. That has changed for the better and now their 3-4 week outlook looks much different. This is about as beautiful as you can picture it. My first full summer of living out in the desert of Arizona is looking pretty awesome as the Monsoon season is poised to be eventful this year.
Well we are finally about to get some heat here next weekend. Dont know the duration or severity of it yet. Will have to see if it becomes the theme of the next 2 months or just an anomaly then back to what we’ve seen in the month of June. If it ends up being the theme of the next 2 months campfires will be banned.
