Democrats ran an awful, AWFUL campaign and they seriously need to re-evaluate what they do in the future. Abortion only (potentially) affects half of the population, and a good chunk of that half does not agree with abortion. When you run a campaign with an issue that only affects roughly 35% of the population (when you factor out anti-abortion women) as your primary issue, you are cooked.
Democrats had no legs to stand on in 2024, much like Republicans didn't in 2020.
Harris/Walz only won MN by 4 points, btw. That's worse than 2016 or 2020, which is sad considering, y'know, our governor was on the ticket.
Minnesota is going to become a swing state.
You don’t want B.C. Alberta, yes. Add Saskatchewan instead of B.C. That way there’s four more Republican senators should Dems add DC snd Puerto Rico. You don’t want BC. BC is right-leaning save Victoria, Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, which skews provincial elections. This makes us a bi-polar province.
I could chew your ear off on the percolating angst of western separatism. When there’s a Conservative leader that has appeal across the country—such as Poilievre—that movement loses steam. It’s not Trudeau Sr or Jr that’s the cause of western separatism. It’s that we have zero mechanisms to balance out regional disparities in population. Your founders thought that out. Ours didn’t.
