I have to be in a window seat…And on prescription meds. Not a fan of a very fast very thin tube that shoots you up to 35k feet and not being in control of it. Don’t think it helped when the United Airlines flight 232 crashed in Sioux City a day before my first ever flight. I was glued to the tv all day. And of course the plane that we were getting into to fly to Minneapolis…A DC-10.
That one was interesting. I thought it was a bust and then I looked outside and saw all of the branches that were down. One huge one almost broke my fence, but I got super lucky.
This is measured per mile though. In other words, the risk of death from driving cross-country is many times higher than if you were to fly instead.
I think this only counts deaths that are directly caused by the mode of transportation.
