Was checking the NWS national map expecting to see T-storm warnings and maybe even a TOR warning SW of The Mitt yesterday morning and when I didn't see anything I just figured the whole set-up was busting so I tuned-out. Crazy the way things turned into a strong storm for SMI later in the day (had 40F and dense fog after work up here). The last F4 was West Bloomfield in '76, with a narrow miss by that EF4 just south of MI border on the outskirts of Toledo in 2010. Had strong thunder here overnight (4 am?) that woke me up. Was down in Ionia and they have grass greening up and I saw earth worms out already there. Winter's toast for SMI imho, NMI ofc isn't out of the woods yet (until mid-May SMH). Upper 50's and windy here today - feels great. Got out for a nice walk and looking forward to the next 3 days with more sunshine! As for the rainstorm, .69" here over the 3-day event. With snow melt we have sizeable puddles.
Already up to today's forecast high of 61º here under severe clear sunny skies. First 70º of the year within reach?
No doubt the upcoming precip boundary will set up just north of Eugene so that everyone from Salem north complains about being inundated while Eugene south stays desert dry.
