To me this looks like a climate change augmented -AO, with an +ENSO signal topping it off. Results in a very hot July for the PNW. The thing that strikes me the most is the warmer than normal heights persisting within trough centers. In the north american view I posted I'm mainly referring to Alaska, but you can also see some "cutoffs" to the northeast of Canada, and in a more broad sense the Caribbean and tropical Pacific.
These ridges piled on ridges are just dumb. How is there supposed to be any balance on a broad scale if the entire climate system is so warm? These huge steps up in temperature globe-wide are astonishing given the fact that the scientific consensus still leans on a bit less than 1.5C of global warming thus far
What a stupid non-pattern. Just excess heat sitting over a broad portion of north america. This rank ass configuration stretches around the whole northern hemisphere.
+7c waters. If the average temp is 65F, that's 78 degrees. And it can dip down to 55 in a Nina. all along the equator! Must be interesting underseas wildlife that has evolved there.
