Someone was saying August could make a run at warmest on record for the US because of the SE and Lower Midwest. I think July was the warmest July on record. Usually El Nino's are below average at a pretty high correlation.

Its slow in August unless we are discussing how fridged Pacific Northwest summers are, so we're typically slow to respond to political post cleanup.
