Easterly QBO + extreme IPWP warmth to put the MJO/Pacific phases into overdrive and slide everything east. The weak La Nina couldn't put up a fight. I have a lot of hope in the winters after this one though. This El Nino will reset everything and the cold pool is already building back for subsequent La Ninas.
