What's the motivation for the BLACKS to do it?

Just had our entire HVAC system (both heating and cooling) replaced and ducts cleaned/replaced/added/etc. Had to select the payment plan option because it was so f**king expensive. But we’re now saving enough money that we’ll break even within 5yrs or so. New system uses 75% less electricity but cools the house 10X better. And is so much quieter too. When it was 92°F last week we cooled the entire house from 75°F to 68°F in less than 10 minutes. Technology has come a long way since the 1990s.
