Down to 50 degrees now with some off and on mist, 54/21 day. Still looks like around half an inch of snow tonight, could verify as more if we're lucky. Not a great father's day afternoon good enough I guess.
Yeah, I can see that. How much snow is left on the Fall Creek Trail? I remember one year going well into July, and just following the creek up on top of about 10-12' of snow. The lakes were still completely frozen over.
With the snow conditions, anyone experienced with backcountry skiing can make it down easily in less than an hour and a half, it's downhill basically the entire way with maybe a mile of skinning, I assume when you went there was no snow, which makes for a much slower descent.
I got probably around around an hour and a half of sleep and a few more afterwards by napping, much more than I got with my newborns.
Started at around 1:30 and made it to the summit at 6ish, was not at the summit for sunrise, was about 1000 feet below near the hodge crest. About 7.5 miles up taking a more direct route up an off trail gully.
