The west is currently enduring what the east had to endure in a number of winters post-2016. At some point that regime had to flip, which I believe actually started after the 2024 Niño (initiation of IPWP broadening).

About to write this winter off but nature always has ways to balance things out. I’m confident we’ll have a wetter and cooler than normal spring. Because if not, we’ll be looking at a devastating upcoming smoke/fire season in the western US and Canada.
