I have seen more intense shows in Washington State before. But the duration of this seems intense. I don’t remember an event in my lifetime where so many people across the country from coast to coast have seen the northern lights. That’s pretty special.

I've seen them once faintly the night of the funeral for my wife's grandfather in Montana. He was very much a man of science and nature, and we saw it as a "good bye" from him. It was a very faint blue/green lighting a relatively small portion of the sky. I think the only reason we saw it was because there was no light pollution whatsoever. For other events up here, it has either been cloudy, too cold, or I ran out of patience. My mind is completely blown. Not gonna lie, when I had a huge burst happen directly overhead and I could see the different colors with the naked eye, I teared up a bit over the sheer beauty and power of what I was seeing. Of course I would love to go to Alaska or Iceland to take in the Northern Lights, but if that doesn't happen, I still feel like a bucket list item got checked off tonight. On a side note, I have been hearing a lot more small airplane traffic overhead. I think those fortunate enough to own a plane have taken to the skies tonight to enjoy the view.

Went up to the highschool because it has a really great view north and east and surprisingly the gate was open. Got some really good pics up here.

Hopefully its a newer phone? I had a protective cover over my camera lens, and it would not focus. Took that off and have been getting amazing shots Oh and of course flash off, and do the 3 second low light feature.

Anytime you post a picture, it looks like every single possible camera filter is on, 100x saturation, etc. Looks weird. Someone had to say it.

Nothing burger in alaska. Sun just set 5 minutes ago, and ontop of that it is cloudy. Hope yall are enjoying. Any clue if it's going to continue getting stronger?
